hey, I went to CMU and graduated in the Communication Design program 2 years ago. So, I can give you a good run down.

What CMU does well is give you a great background in thinking and solving problems. Going through user testing and how to take into account all factors and not just turn out something that looks cool.

What it won't do is give you an education where you *just* make cool stuff. You won't be making things like 2advanced and threeoh or Josh Davis. It concentrates a lot on thinking over exectution.

That is the problem I had, is that I wish the execution of projects was looked at more. But since I left I know this has gotten better. So you would get a better education than me ^_^

If you have any other questions you can email me (see profile) or you can come to www.besigner.com (will open tomorrow) which is a web site I maintain for CMU design alumni. This would probably be a great place for solid feedback from a bunch of people if you want. Good thing it comes back up tomorrow.

    hope that helps
