CMU in general is fantastic. Like most small schools it breeds it own internal communities.. but there is a wealth of talent in all departments and lots of cross fertilization. I worked with Computer Science Majors and Artists all lot while there in the early 90's. Plus you can take classes in the business school.. don't miss this opportunity . The library is fantastic .. for a school its size absolutely fantastic.. Plus the faculty is actually quite approachable and always working on some cutting edge stuff.. no different than any other school.. just all the departments seem to be doing stuff at the leading edge.... Cant beat the computer connection.. the LAN "andrew" has been in all dorms since late 80's. Plus Pittsburgh is growing (http://www.pump.org) ... there are actually lofts.. lots of them..and the art scene is accessible. Plus its cheap to live and get around. apartments are dirt cheap.. for what you get.. even better there are several James Turrell installations in town..http://www.mattress.org/ca...
The weather can be greyish and the general population could be characterized as provincial.. but if abundant availableresources andcollaboration in the communication arts, business and computers are your bailiwick .. and you want to enjoy every variety of ethic food available then get there
