That's great man! You'll find that this city is nearly perfect. I moved here on a whim from Texas in September 2001, packed on Sept 11 actually.
It's a little warm out now, I hope that it's a mild summer. Last year was and it was nice.
You should really get out and try to see as much as you can, get on the el and take the brown line north to the Belmont/Clark area, go up around Wrigley Field, etc. Any suggestions you need, feel free to send an email.
I live on the north side, if you look at a CTA map I am right by the Irving Park brown line. Used to live closer to where you are in Logan Square but it was kind of isolated and I wanted to be closer to stuff, grocery store, bars, restaraunts, CTA, etc. all within walking distance.
A word of warning: There are enough bars in the city to go to a different one every night for three years...
Hmm, what else...
The City North AMC movie theater on Western has $5 movies on Tuesday, free parking, and free bag of popcorn. I've not gone in ages because we have band practice on that night.
Are you working yet?
