by officially not allowing to install Leopard on non-mac pc's they steer clear from responsibility for the OS crashing, lack of drivers, etc. on third party machines. What a smart move - it's not only not their problem, but it's also illegal!
Microsoft will soon have windows drivers for Apple hardware. So, if you buy a Dell, you can have windows and illegal, unstable, unsupported Leopard. By buying a Mac you get both. That's where a reason to buy a Mac still lies, aside from the design.
I guess there will be ways to share resources between systems (bookmarks, history, email archive, docs). I also expect there'll be preinstalled dual boot macs available somewhere.
