My dad was in a chickenhouse once and the roof got sucked off by a tornado. He held on for dear life and his legs were like up in the air. He said that all the chickens got sucked out and it looked like a big white ribbon stretching into the sky.
Related story - my aunt and uncle live on the gulf of mexico and their house was the only house not destroyed by a hurricane that hit them - they were miraculously in the eye. Coincidentally, that same uncle is a "hurricane hunter" and flies helicopters into them.
