well, no one car is made 100% from one factory. and it is sad that all those factory workers will be out of jobs. from the articles i've read, the government wanted to step to keep the company going and the workers keep their jobs. it's all an outsider's view, nothing from within sweden. i can't imagine the tax getting higher because of that if you say it's already pretty bad.
subaru's technology as far as their AWD system and boxer engine may not be anything new and groundbreaking but it is proven in performance and reliability. not everyone needs the latest and greatest. i still wouldn't call it ancient. it's like calling the quattro system ancient because it's 25 years old.
GM decided to get a little boost in saab sales by using the impreza. at the time of its release, the impreza wrx was selling very well. it definitely wasn't the last shoulder to lean on. GM expects a lot of sales from the 9-7x since it's an suv but now suvs sales have been going down. nothing is going right for GM and Saab.and as for turbo lag, not every engine is a VAG 1.8t or 2.0t
