Wrong. Neither the 9-3 or the 9-5 are built in Trollhattan (the swedish facility). The chassis are tightened, the interior is being put together and the paint is being put on. Very little is 'made'. The major work is done in Rüsselheim and when 90% of the work is completed, they're being transported to sweden by boat. Extremely unhealthy for their economy (obviously), and there's been a major debate about this shipment in swedish press because they're brought here not because they have to, but because they don't want to lose whatever little swedish 'touch' they have so that americans can claim they drive swedish vehicles, when - in fact- they aren't. And apparently they were right - as of 31st of december 2005, ALL work will be done in Rüsselheim, leaving GM's poor child without a soul. (and swedish factory workers unemployed)

I don't consider a 4-5 year old car ancient in general, I consider all Subaru's ancient in technology and if I was to save a car company heading towards bankruptcy, Subaru would be the last shoulder to lean on.

Yes, turbo lag. Exactly. These Saab turbos had insane lag when they were introduced in the Saab 9000 in 1986, and -ironically- they still do since its the same engine with a few tweaks to please the euro car pollution idiots and other treehuggers.
