i guess if you're not into performance and stuff and just want an entry-level, safe midesize sedan, you won't really need it to shell out the extra money. like if it's gonna be a commuter car. if that's the case, i would buy a certified-used volvo. volvos depreciate in value. you can save a lot of money that way.
don't rule out saabs either. they are really cheap with all the discounts they're giving out like the new employee discount program. the cars themselves are kinda dated, but they are very reliable and the viggen are pretty quick. saabs also get overshadowed as being one of the safest cars on the road by volvos.
