A buddy got an R - in fact, he was carjacked in it just 3 months ago. (long story)
The T5 is overpriced, almost as quick with the 2.5T but with awesome gas milage instead. Not a very inspiring drive (feels like its 'floating'), but pretty and safe. Tiny backseat and trunk, passengers get grumpy after having to hold their legs up on longer trips... and it's getting quite old. If I were shopping for one, I'd consider the new S40 instead. About the same size but newer.
