I've had rabbits and you can train them to use a litterbox like cats if you're against having your carpets saturated. If you want to have it loose, it's probably wise to keep it confined to a room or two though - at least while you're not home. They like scratch and chew just like cats, so try to keep it in a fabric/wire-free area.
