Just finished Ep. 2, I am liking this new Trek much more than I thought I would.

lens flare galore!
- Continuity-1
God damn, I fucking hate this miserable series.
Effectively, what the producers have done is watch 'Equinox' (Parts 1 and 2) from Voyager, and decided to base what is shaping up to be an entire series premise around it, with this whole Project Porcini/Tardigrade the Truffle Pig bullshit. Basically, re-imagining the 'Equinox' two-parter. Ugh. And absolutely none of these fucking cunty characters is even the least bit likable, let alone believable.
Fuck this shit. I'd rather staple my bag to my leg, and watch 'Enterprise'.
- And yet, like the sucker that I am, I will keep watching because I'm starved for even a little bit of Trek.Continuity
- I had to look that up. I don't see what the similarity is but I don't remember this one very well.
https://www.youtube.…CyBrainX - I still think it's gotten off to the best start of any of the series so far.CyBrainX

No one will watch it because captain is a woman
- Voyager seemed to have done well ...Continuity

- We all want the series to succeed. But it's like an eye leucoma for me, as if something's in the way -- I no longer see characters, all I see are the producersdrgs
- having a meeting, discussing what the "correct" cast needs to be... and it throws me out of the storydrgs
- False alarm, this guy is playing the captain:

Its going to be awesome!!drgs - lol such a trollset
- Not true. If she's got big tits I will.Hayzilla

So what is the Klingon history?
In the original series they look pretty much human, by TNG they look like Warf but in this and the Chris Pine timeline they are kind of inbetween.
Is there a reason or should I just sit back and suspend disbelief?
- Could be the JJ timeline. I'll watch the trailer again.CyBrainX

I don't want to pre-judge, but this series smells like it might be a shit sandwich.
Actually, I will pre-judge: it looks like it's going to another 'Enterprise'-style shit sandwich.
Can't Paramount simply re-hire Brannon, Braga and RDM, and just continue the stories where Voyager left off? Enough with the fucking prequels, re-boots, and lens flares already.
- Oops.
Berman, Bragga and RDM, I meant.Continuity - I think that group was great in the early 90s but jumped the shark with DS9 and Voyager. I'm not sure I would want them all back as it was before.CyBrainX
- I actually loved Voyager, for the most part. It felt much, much, much more like good old ST than DS9 or ENT ever did. Sure, there were some dud episodes, and ..Continuity
- ... some of the cast rubbed me the wrong way (Kate Mulgrew and the cocknosher who played Harry Kim), and some the aliens outright sucked (I'm looking at ...Continuity
- ... you, Kazons), but other than that, it was vastly superior to DS9 and ENT.Continuity
- Anyway, one would hope after all this time, that team would have fresh ideas. At least they know the source material like the backs of their hands.Continuity
- Oops.

It sucks

- Considering how polarizing Star Trek is, I'm pretty impressed this is the first dislike I've seen.CyBrainX

I think it's great overall. The dialogue is pretty lame at times but visually it's superb and the story is fairly interesting so far. I look forward to more...

What I don't get is that Sarus character isn't such a careless fuckface right, he is the one who is always overreacting right?
So why not spend the discovery part of the episode investigating the murder and the rest can remain on that other ship?
tilly should use that spore emanation flux or "some shit" to reconstruct the homicide, because as we know lieutenant theotherginger can see through time (or something like that) and in startrek you can suck out memories from heads and not just one way. and maybe this way it will make more sense how the fakk discovery's crew knew the secret of ash
job done, go home.

I survived the first season, not watching second.
First interracial kiss on TV was in the original series (although aliens made them do it). I want stuff like that in Star Trek, but shoving it in my face - no thanks.

Star Trek: Mass Effect
Clunky expository dialogue.
Lens flares everywhere.
I'll download it anyway.

WANT TO SEEEE!

"You'll never learn to speak Vulcan. You're tongue is too human."
The kid is too young to be Spock. 10 years before Kirk, Spock is serving under Captain Pike.
However, this doesn't mean we can't have Spock as a young adult in this series. Is Zachary Quinto in the house??

Damn, those Mirror verse uniforms are nice.

The show in itself, is passable. It just should be called something else. If the words "Federation, Star Fleet and Klingons" were removed from the script, you are left with basically nothing embodying Trek.

First episode was pretty entertaining. I liked the look and feel of the show. The opening theme and titles were pretty awesome. Dialogue was a bit clunky, but I'll be on board for this first season to see where it goes.

I enjoyed the first season and thought it was the best first season any of these shows had other than the original series. For that reason I'm hanging on but the second season is not as good. There are too many subplots but there are good things going on with the potential for very good things later.
