What body/lens combo are you loving right now.
These days I'm almost strictly shooting with Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 24-105mm f/4.0L

Canon 7D (time to upgrade)
24-70mm ƒ2.8 USM L- what ya upgrading to?bklyndroobeki
- had that body for a while. great camera but when you upgrade you will be shocked at how much better you'll shoot in low lightHijoDMaite
- in other words the worst part about that camera is the high iso noiseHijoDMaite
- exactly why i want an upgrade. i shoot events quite often. the fast shutter is nice tho.pango

Canon 7D with:
• EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
• EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
• Leica Summicron-R 50mm f/1.4 w/R-to-EOS adapter mount (which is a real cunt to focus with the 7D's stock focussing screen)Canon AE-1 with:
• FD 50mm f/1.4 SSC
• FD 75-200mm f/4.5 (I hate its fucking guts)

Canon 600D (T3i) - Going to upgrade this very soon
• EFS 18-55mm
• EFS 17-55mm UltrasonicSamsung Galaxy NX (so handy)
- that 17-55 is nice. but yea T3i is screaming for an upgrade. try keep it and turn it in to a infrared camera!HijoDMaite

Canon 5D Mk II - this camera is a workhorse. so impressed.
35mm f1.4L - awesome low light lens. good for live music shots
24-105 f/4.0L - brilliant everyday lens
100mm f2.8L macro - good for portraits and close up arty crap. i use this lens the least.iphone 6 - i know, but you can get some fantastic results and it's in my pocket all the time.
- wish i had the 35mm 1.5HijoDMaite
- all great but the iphone is not worth mentioning comparatively. I have the 5D Mk II too.CyBrainX

5D Mk III ..
EF 24-70 f/2.8 MK I
EF 16-35 f2.8
EF 70-200 f.28 IS MK II (although, this is my wifes, but hey, without the 5d it aint shit)
EF 100mm f.28 MacroWorkhorse is a mixture of the 24-70 and 16-35.. depending on what im doing.
its taken a long time get here.. but I have pretty much reached the point where i am not lusting after gear any more. which is strange, when a big job comes in, i dont instantly think "great, now i can by xyz"
- and a broke ass 7D which i use as a B Camera.. i say broke as i fell down a manhole with it on a job once.. now only shoots videoautoflavour
- videoautoflavour
- the 16-35 survived with a minor cosmetic scratch to the body, 7D took the hitautoflavour
- congrats you have the Canon holy trinity. no primes?HijoDMaite
- the nifty 50.. I did have the 50mm L for a while, but it was just too problematic for video.. so i returned it for the 16-35autoflavour
- sacrilege i know.. the photos it made when it got them were amazing, but there were a lot that it didnt get.. focus wiseautoflavour
- especially at 1.2.. which if you are going to get a lens that shoots 1.2.. you want it to workautoflavour

Fujifilm XE-1
XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS (27-84mm equiv.)
XF 18mm F2 R (27mm equiv.)
iPhone 6 + Lumu light meter- you find that kit lens is good enough? I've seen some beautiful shoots with that lens.HijoDMaite
- Kit lens is great. Still reasonably fast at 18mm, and very sharp. Only got the prime for compactness.Nathan_Adams

anybody else here on Nikon?
i am sporting Nikon d300s + 50mm f1.4 - lovely combo though i wouldn't mind trying out a full-frame
- inteliboy0
Fuji X-Pro 1
XF 35 1.4
SLR Magic 23mm 1.4for work - often on a 5d mark iii with a zeiss kit. Though fuck I hate shooting on DSLR's.
- autoflavour0
- no 4k? how much is this?cruddlebub
- HD is all one needs, fuck keeping up with the jonesesmoldero
- If you're going to spend a lot then 4k limits the lifespan of your camera.CyBrainX
- ^^ lol dont remember writing thatmoldero
- inteliboy0
canon completely fucked the momentum they had going with video and the 5d. morons.
A few years ago the gears were turning, we were shooting a fair amount of jobs on 5D's... now it's just an Alexa or Red. Haven't seen a dslr on set for ages.
- are they aiming to split the market so they sell more gear?Amicus
- i wish i could afford to shoot with RED or Alexa..autoflavour
- it still is a good sensor and a nice camera to own, just a mess to manipulate but affordable compared to alexa or red.uan
- Yeah, Canon also sells C300, etc, so they probably don't want the 5D to be used for high end production.nb

canon 6D
Sigma 35mm 1.4f Art lens
Sigma 50mm 1.4f Art lensi love the 35mm lens! mainly use that. A vast improvement on my last camera which was the Canon 40D, i loved that camera!
- oh and i have the 70-200mm 2.8f lens for all the long and zoom shots.cruddlebub
- olympus OM10 and loads of film. 135mm lens with that too...cruddlebub
- so you dig the Art series. much heavier though right? you ever worry about weather sealing?HijoDMaite
- i'm really curious about their 85 1.4. really curious.jaylarson
- they are weighted well, not too heavy at all, unless you're a pussy! lol fast, sharp, clean, lovely lenses.cruddlebub
- yeah the 85mm looks superb too.cruddlebub
- obviously still rumours at the mocruddlebub
- and the weather sealing is a bit of a worry, but to be fair i've had no worries with them at all.cruddlebub

D800
Nikkor 70-200
Nikkor 24-70
Nikkor 50 1.4Really want to go lighter, Fuji-ish...once they make a decent resolution sensor (gotta be soon).
- Canon M, too, which takes pretty nice pics but the lack of optical viewfinder kills me (good value tho)formed
- I've read that 24-70 is the best lens in the world at that rangeHijoDMaite
- I love it. Not sure about "best", but not much to compare it to.formed
- SimonFFM0
- you're an animal with that 85mm 1.2! a favorite of fashion photogs no?HijoDMaite

Wow so Nikon barely being used by everyone so far. I don't understand Nikon FF body lineup, they go from the d700 which is a measly 12mp to a giant expensive d800/d810 nothing in between.
I do appreciate the focus capability of the d700 compared to my Canon 5dmk2 but I just can't deal with worrying about cropping my shots and losing megapixels.
Also the ergonomics of Nikon have never been right for my hands. I feel like I have to "pinch" the side grip where on Canon's grip I can fully wrap my hand around it.
- the D600 is in between right?SteveJobs
- I'm still learning Nikon lineup, looks like you're right.HijoDMaite
- I chose Nikon based on ergonomics, I hate how the 5D MkII felt...7D is much better, but still not as goodformed
- and the d750 is a fucking badass camerajaylarson
- pinkfloyd0
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
- I use this too and I hate it for shooting. It's the only time I complain about my phone being too big.HijoDMaite
- Phones don't count. Sorry.CyBrainX

D800, with a handful of fixed Nikon lenses.
Most common lens I use is the Nikkor 35mm f/2.I've been on Nikon for years. The D700 is an amazing camera for low light if you don't need the MP. Sometimes I wish I had kept my D700 as a low light and snapshot/action camera. It's so good at ISO3200 and also it's fast and easy to focus. The D800 requires more careful shooting to get a good image, but when you do, the results are incredible.
I looked really hard at switching to Sony or Fuji because of the size of the cameras. First problem is the amount (and size/weight) of the glass available. The real problem with them is focusing. Auto focus is so slow on those little Sonys and manual focus is basically unusable on those viewfinders, in my opinion. Sometimes I need manual focus, for speed. And it's hard to give up fast autofocus. I tried a Sony A6000 because I really wanted a small camera for street photography, but the whole focusing/viewfinder system makes it impossible.
So, I lug around my D800.
- maybe invest in a Fuji x100s for walk around and street stuff. people swear by them. I might pick one upHijoDMaite
- good info thanksHijoDMaite
- Whoa, just looked online at the Fuji x100T. This might be the camera! Although I've learned to not get my hopes up...nb
- yeah, those new little ff sonys sound amazing though. pair that with the good glass?! i think the game is changing.jaylarson
- jay i know a photog who does similar work to yours and he traded his 1dx for a new Sony system. http://www.larrymars…HijoDMaite

my kit = T2i / sigma 18-35 / canon 10-22 / sigma 70-200
I would like something with better AF and low light capablitlies. Not sure if i should go 7DmII or try to get a 6D dirt cheap incase a 6DmII is going to come out. Only problem going 6D means I need to get a 16-35 with it and ideally a 24-70 or 24-105... Going fullframe gets pricey not including filters and crap...
- Miguex0
- most times, not always of course.Miguex
- My camera (an expensive Nikon) does not even have that setting.nb
- I never us 8 or 9 of them....pango
- i'm so pro.pango
- M, Av, Pformed
- LOL.. never .. AV mode yes, and the M for video..
autoflavour - Av and M. Everything else might as well not be there for me.Continuity

I know it's a few years old, but I absolutely love the Panasonic Lumix GH2 with the 20mm pancake lens. Excellent for video as well.
