Update your Mac: Apple fixes major flaw in OS X Yosemite, but won't patch Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks
http://appleinsider.com/articles…
Now fuck off Apple!
- Apple will not patch versions older than 10.10, reportedly due to the complexity of the fix.utopian

Congrats Apple, I updated to 10.10.3 last week, and now I have been alerted to another update just 4 days later.
- omg, a video driver supplemental update, how dare they!monospaced
- windows would never offer any small updates on a regular basis, amiright?monospaced
- Ha! Windows has updates every 1-2 weeks, though not all are "critical". In between there there is usually an Office "security" update.evilpeacock
- Please it has dozens of non critical updates every few days. Also this one OS X update wasn't critical either.monospaced

HEY if you're using Adobe CS5, you do NOT need to downgrade your Java to version 6.
You can simply make two empty folders:
/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtual...
/System/Library/Java/Support/Dep...It works for me! Running latest version of Java.

Ok,
So photos; it was meant to be a replacement for iPhoto, Aperture, etc. BUT appears to have released somewhat lacklustre.
What does everyone use for photo management?
Lightroom?
I now have a son as well as a photo addicted wife and am looking to share everything throughout the family.
Thanks in advance for all relevance and irrelevance.
- Lightroom for my real pics. Photos for iPhone pics.inteliboy

I know I'm beating a dead horse with this one, but... I was using Yosemite last night and the thing, aesthetically, is a fucking joke. The icons are awful and child like. The flat UI is anything but the slick and classic aesthetic apple were once known for, and the light weight helvetica is an amateur choice for on screen and doesn't work at all.
I still love my iMac and macbook running snow leopard, but I truly believe Apple's class died with Steve Jobs.
- Actually I'm running mavericks not snow leopard, which is great.set
- and I'll not even mention that for the price of an iPhone I can get a far superior Sony phone AND a tablet. All I need is a viable desktop alternative...set
- and I can fuck Apple off entirely.set
- ugh mavericks was shit.
snow leopard ftw. i dread the day i have to upgradehans_glib - Mavericks is running fine for meset

i just upgraded my late 2009 (refurbished) 27"iMac (16gb). I was having artifact-creating errors using chrome and firefox and have switched to safari right now. "so far so luck". i know my machine is older, but man—wish I could upgrade my video card—but I don't trust myself. I'll have to wait until i get a 5k iMac then. ...
