    from the atlantic article above:

After its battle in Dabiq, Cerantonio said, the caliphate will expand and sack Istanbul. Some believe it will then cover the entire Earth, but Cerantonio suggested its tide may never reach beyond the Bosporus. An anti-Messiah, known in Muslim apocalyptic literature as Dajjal, will come from the Khorasan region of eastern Iran and kill a vast number of the caliphate’s fighters, until just 5,000 remain, cornered in Jerusalem. Just as Dajjal prepares to finish them off, Jesus—the second-most-revered prophet in Islam—will return to Earth, spear Dajjal, and lead the Muslims to victory.

This reads like a bad WWE script, Jesus comes out of nowhere, fans go nuts, but switches sides and helps the Muslims with a folding chair to the head of the west lol.

    • Those people are still in Dark Ages. They didnt evolved.Ben99
    • lol When I read that I flipped my shit too. Jesus returns to fight for the Muslims. That should get the evangelicals scratching their heads.sarahfailin

    Interesting article.

How West learned nothing on the war of terror.

We are repeating the same errors. ..

And again, thank you G. W. Bush. We're in this because of him.

The brits are debating joining the airstrikes against isis, question is, does bombing actually do anything? it seems that they have all moved underground in elaborate tunnels and bunkers and maybe the only people who are getting hit are innocent civilians who aren't trying to hide underground.

Just an excuse for western countries to prop up some military spending? Job creation for arms companies?

So two years ago Cameron asked for authority to bomb Assad which was voted down. Now he is asking for authority to bomb Assad's enemies.

When was the last time a country was so desperate to enter a war that they tried to use the pretext of fighting one side, then the other side when that didn't work?

    • Less desperation than reactive cluelessness and a profound lack of strategy or consideration.detritus
    • imho, 'the coalition' (including Russia) would be as well to just send in loads of their special forces units and decapitate ISIS. Bombing's just bluster.detritus

The NY Times provided examples of how ISIS runs this operation inside its territory:

In a neighborhood in Mosul, Iraq, ISIS has transformed a police station into a market and charges vendors 2.8 million Iraqi dinars, or roughly $2,500, per year to rent a stall.

In ISIS' de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria, the "Office of Services" collects a "cleaning tax" of about 2,500 to 5,000 Syrian pounds, or about $7 to $14, from merchants.

ISIS also charges for utilities like water and electricity, and residents go to "collection points" to pay their bills. Those usually total about 800 Syrian pounds, or roughly $2.50, for electricity, and 400 pounds, or about $1.20, for water.

ISIS' "Office of Resources" controls the group's oil and smuggling operations, in addition to businesses like soft-drink plants, mobile-phone companies, textile and furniture workshops, and factories that produce chemicals, cement, and tiles.

ISIS also skims revenue from small businesses, demanding a cut of their profits.

ISIS charges an income tax of about 10%.

ISIS imposes fines and fees for services or infractions including car registration, college textbooks, traffic violations, and smoking.

    • How capitalist of them. I can see why they hate us so much.monospaced

Europe is to blame of course, but not for making terrorists' life worse -- European Islamists live nearly perfect lives (from their countrymen's perspective, wherever they are from).

Europe is to blame for the fact that they did not implement any assimilation policies, in general no policies were carried out at all. Because Europeans assume (quite reasonably in all other situations) that as long as people are happy, interfering with their lives has absolutely no reason.

The result of these policies are ghettos of residents who sell small crap to each other, engage in drug pushing, live on welfare, and all free time from selling drugs is dedicated to religion.

I have nothing against selling drugs, but religion is an extremely repulsive thing, infection of the mind, a mental virus which spreads among the slackers like fire, and if its not dealt with, it may escalate into an epidemic

That is, the whole of Europe is to blame: if you have flare-ups of religion in your city, it is necessary to burn all sources out with hot iron, and treat the victims with education, but Europeans let things drift

    Discuss

    • Assimilation is not easy. Every large cities in North America have ghettos of different people. We can't force them to integrate our society (or may we should?)Ben99
    • There's lots of places in Montreal where people ghettoize themselves and dont speak franch or english. They live outside the 'normal' world that surround them.Ben99
    • Rich, self-interested cunts make decisions about importing poor cunts in to make them more money, with scant regard for incumbent poor cunts, who stay poor.detritus

    Hehe
    https://www.facebook.com/faisals…

It must be incredibly frustrating as an Islamic terrorist not to have your views and motives taken seriously by the societies you terrorize, even after you have explicitly and repeatedly stated them. Even worse, those on the regressive left, in their endless capacity for masochism and self-loathing, have attempted to shift blame inwardly on themselves, denying the terrorists even the satisfaction of claiming responsibility.
It's like a bad Monty Python sketch:
"We did this because our holy texts exhort us to to do it."
    "No you didn't."
    "Wait, what? Yes we did..."
"No, this has nothing to do with religion. You guys are just using religion as a front for social and geopolitical reasons."
"WHAT!? Did you even read our official statement? We give explicit Quranic justification. This is jihad, a holy crusade against pagans, blasphemers, and disbelievers."
"No, this is definitely not a Muslim thing. You guys are not true Muslims, and you defame a great religion by saying so."
"Huh!? Who are you to tell us we're not true Muslims!? Islam is literally at the core of everything we do, and we have implemented the truest most literal and honest interpretation of its founding texts. It is our very reason for being."
"Nope. We created you. We installed a social and economic system that alienates and disenfranchises you, and that's why you did this. We're sorry."
"What? Why are you apologizing? We just slaughtered you mercilessly in the streets. We targeted unwitting civilians - disenfranchisement doesn't even enter into it!"
"Listen, it's our fault. We don't blame you for feeling unwelcome and lashing out."
"Seriously, stop taking credit for this! We worked really hard to pull this off, and we're not going to let you take it away from us."
"No, we nourished your extremism. We accept full blame."
"OMG, how many people do we have to kill around here to finally get our message across?"
