Fuji will release a X80 this year, replacing the X70
- woohoo!BuddhaHat
- I saw that earlier today. It's funny that in the article I saw, it had some bad vibes for the X70. It's like I told you Bennnnnn, I wouldn't want it for mymg33
- only camera, but as a camera that compliments more expensive gear, and that takes far better photos than a cell phone, it fits that need.mg33
- totallyBennn
- an APC-S sensor that small is very nice, and Fuji!Bennn

Similar kona's last post, I utterly lack the confidence to post anything alongside the amazing work in the 'Show your latest Pics' thread, but I got my Samsung S7 a few days ago, and managed to get out to a few places to take some shots in Andalucía, and wanted to share the ones I was happy with. Only small amounts of cropping and a couple of light processing changes have been done to a couple of them, but I like them enough to share, so here goes:
- nice. where are you?Gnash
- Almería at the moment, moving to Granada at the end of MarchBuddhaHat
- best of luck. I'm sure you'll miss the seaGnash
- Thanks man, I've never lived next to a 3500m mountain range either, so it will just be another experience for me. Besides, Aussie beaches are better :)BuddhaHat
- I would love to visit that area. Wanna do like a wife swap or something? Or house swap like the movie "The Holiday"?HijoDMaite
- Photo #5 & #6 are superb imo. :)HijoDMaite
- lovely!kona
- Galaxy S7 camera is fantasticBennn
- @Hijo 'Praise from Caesar is praise indeed'. Thank you, you just made my day.
I'm not sure you'd want the house swap tho, it's freezing like a tomb atm =\BuddhaHat - It's always nice to have a "frame within a frame" especially for landscapes. :)HijoDMaite

- Do you want to buy a camera that can take really great photos from me??? :)mg33
- Hmmmm.... perhaps!kona
- I've been trying to sell my Nikon D610 + a 50mm 1.8 and a 24mm 2.8 lens, along with all the filters I have for those lenses.mg33

- great shot! sunrises/sets are my favorite! especially when the clouds just allow the sun to peak through on the horizon—everything becomes fire/magenta!jaylarson
- snapshots like these are a gateway drug to spending money on expensive gear. good luck!jaylarson
- spend the money buy the gear! btw that camera mg33 has is so good you may not need to upgrade ever. it's fantasticHijoDMaite
- lol detritus. Inside joke on that within the fam. Needless to say I have maybe 50 superman tshirts. Every xmas. Every Birthday. Same gift, lolkona
- @mg33: That might be a bit much for me to be honest. Let me think it over.kona

- @futerfood: I'm thinking a Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II. Thoughts?kona

- uv filter + grad filter + very high fstop to create sun star & everything in focus. Or bracketed HDR in camera option. Both using heavy color editing in post.HijoDMaite
- Exactly what I was looking for Hijo, ¡gracias amigo!BuddhaHat
- I'd say bracketing. That would be a hell of an achievement to have a deep blue sky, clear flare and glowing flowers all at once, in camera.formed

- Damn. Cannon keeping its base strong around the world, but Fuji and Sony about to crush it.HijoDMaite
- They didnt take the mirrorless seriously... now they're paying for their mistake. Canon has been very lucky yet.Bennn
- ^ Yup. That stupid DF was a bad mistake and their customer support with the D800/600 oil problems wasn't smart either.formed

Anyone have some suggestions on pricing photos for sale? I've had someone approach me about a photo on Flickr that they'd like to buy to print as a mural of some kind, requesting minimum 2,500 pixel height (it's a landscape format image).
Compared to, say, offering actual prints for sale, any suggestions on pricing strictly for a digital file? \
- offer to print it for them and charge accordingly. I'd be wary of sending a hires file.Gnash
- Yeah, use Zenfolio/etc. to set it up. It'll charge the appropriate taxes too.
Charge as much as you can get!formed - Show us the photocherub
- They want to print it as a mural at 88 inches wide by 98 inches tall to cover an entire wall in their house.mg33
- No way a 2500px image can do that. Need to add a few zeros to the res.formed

I'm reading articles about cameras since a week now, i've made a loooot of reading!
I'm almost at the end of my thinking about what should I use to take pictures. The weights is the main concern for me, but I also want to be able to take good quality pictures.
I take pictures mostly in the wilderness when hiking. I like ultra-wide angle shot, tele-zoom shot and some macro... that's a problem because I want to do everything... and the only to do this is with multiple lenses; that mean weight, lots of weight.
And since I'm using mostly my phone since 6 months to take pictures, with amazing results, really. I think I may go with :
Canon G7 X Mark II
20 mgpixels
1″ (13.2 x 8.8 mm) sensor size
24–100 mm
F1.8–2.8
31 focus points
Touchscreen
319g weightand with all the money i'll make by selling all my photography stock, i want this :
Sony RX10 Mark III
Its a bridge camera. never tought I would ever get a bridge! But the more I read about it, the more I want it! I often go bird watching with my gf and that camera would be perfect for this. No lense to change, combined with the Canon G7X, i'll be able to shoot many different thing. Perfect on trip too.
20 mgpixels
1″ (13.2 x 8.8 mm) sensor size
24–600 mm
F2.4–4
25 focus points
4K video with ultra slow-mo
Environmentally sealedNow i just need to sell my Fuji X-T1 and 3 lenses... my Canon G16 and my Canon SL1 and 3 other Canon lenses.

Hey guys, what do you think about LG 29UM57 - https://www.bestadvisor.com/best…
Is it good enough for photo edition? I am a beginner, do not know a lot about photography, just need a quality monitor to edit photos made by professional camera.
- Bennn0
I took the DSLR to Mirrorless step last year. Sold my Canon 60D and got a Fujifilm X-T1 with 3 lenses. Super cool camera.
Well.. it's still too heavy and bulky to carry. I'm really tired of carrying lenses and the X-T1 with lense on is still too heavy.
I moslty shoot when hiking and during long day walking and hike. And I noticed I almost exclusively shot pictures with my Samsung Galaxy S7 during the last 6 months... Wich makes amazing pictures for a "phone".
So, I think I'm ready to take the Mirrorless to Compact step. Its weird to think but I have to realize i dont bring my X-T1 kit anymore because of the weight.
After A LOT of reading on the web I'm currently lurking the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II and the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V
- Look at M43. The new Olympus/Panasonic's are really nice. Much, much smaller lenses, it's really quite amazing.formed
- i dont want micro 4/3rdBennn
- sensors are too smallBennn
- Images and video are great, thoformed
- Here ya go Ben
http://www.sony.com/…ok_not_ok - whuuuut! Didnt see this one anywhere! thanksBennn
- Why don't you consider a smaller fixed lens Fuji? Maybe the new X100F?
https://fujilove.com…mg33 - the X100F is interesting... but no touchscreen to move the focus point... its mendatory in 2017Bennn
- I have the touch screen focus on my X70 and turned it off the first day I had it. It's hugely annoying.mg33
- Curious - if you're getting a camera with a viewfinder, why the interest in touch screen focus? I fee like choosing single point, zone, or wide tracking shouldmg33
- always get you close to what you want if you're framing your shots appropriately.mg33
- on new camera you can chose the focus point while watching in the viewfinder, there's a name for this, its the new hypeBennn
- Hype.mg33
- yeah but its very useful, saw many photographer on youtube stating how useful it isBennn

I have started using DJI's Ground Station Pro with my phantom 4 to automate large scale aerial photos, its free and works really well.
Basically you can create large 50-100mp landscape images from a birdseye view without having to do any piloting. Going to experiment on some nice semi abstract looking forest aerials next week.

Mg33 have you tried the various ways to organize photos in Lightroom?
- Yes. Keywords for everything, larger groupings above such as Places, People, Clients, Types of Photos (textures, oceans, street, etc.)mg33
- I review imported photos and apply a single star to good photos. As I edit them, change label to green.mg33
- Then I go through green labels to pick best of those, change label to purple. Then from those, the ones I want to actually use, maybe 10-12 max, get blue labelsmg33
- That way at any one time I can tell if I've selected or edited anything, and if I liked it enough to go further with.mg33
- I rate stars 1-5. Edit only the 5's, but if I go back I look through the others. The 0's I never look at again. I use colors for specific purposesformed
- Then I use the organization groups for specific purposes, like magazine publicationsformed
- Lr is superb for this, what it was made for.formed
- I also make folders w/in the date/imports: Edits, Finals, Small (edits are files with layers, Finals are high res export jpgs, Small is for FB, etc.)formed
- All that and mg33 has a spread sheet on top of that! He's machine!!pango
- I typically import into date folders. with varies keywords on batch or individuals. Then use collection folder for photos in the same projects but differentpango
- dates. Stars for editing priorities. can't find a use for labels tho. i just key word everything.... lolpango
- I do the same, but in Bridge instead (the stars and color label)Bennn
