Police are hunting for five men wanted for a brazen smash-and-grab heist at a Midtown jewelry store on Thursday.
Investigators say the men walked into the Cartier store at Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street around 12:30 p.m.
Three of the men were carrying hammers, which they used to smash a glass case.
The NYPD says the men took off with 16 watches valued at about $700,000.

seventys, that's a great, great point. I really appreciate your feedback and dissection of the cities. Thank you very much :c)
- No problem. I know I made a lot of mistakes when I first moved to New York. One additional tip: if you do decide to go to NYC, make sure your relocation package covers your agent fee. They charge 15% just to find a place to rent.seventys

One additional tip:
If you do decide to move to New York, make sure your relocation package includes the agent's fee. In New York, agents who help you find a place to live may charge you up to 15% of the annual rent.
- it's usually just a month's rent though, and now even that is negotiablemonospaced

Chicago can be interesting.... you just have to look around, it rewards exploration. I lived here without a car for quite some time... The CTA Trains / busses are quite usable, especially if you're being entertained by the occasional person with chemically enhanced brain cells....
Yes, some deep dish pizza is bad, especaily the next moring if you eat too much of it!
Yes, you can live a handful of blocks away from hipster central for a reasonable rent. This gives you the freedom to not have to take soul crushing gigs, so you don't have to spend your time on earth advertising toilet paper in order to pay the huge rent...
There is interesting work here, but you have to look.... it's not quite like NYC where great stuff is all over...
If you have a place to crash and a pretty solid offer, NYC is great, I've known a few friends who moved to NYC then came back after a few years, due largely to being burned out by costs, smells and having to keep jobs that they didn't love to pay the rent....

Do you think the real estate bubble will burst in NYC ever? These prices can't keep on going up if any students or retail people are ever going to survive.

If you were planning on coming to town for NYC infamous "Party Packs" (a prostitute and cocaine combo offered for the Super Bowl), you might be disappointed to know that a group of 18 persons responsible for offering these were recently busted and probably will not be offering their services in time for Super Bowl XLVII.

nyc open 24 hours a day.. those premiums you speak of fall into that.. able to have anything delivered 24 hours a day.. you will hve more choices to entertain yourself in nyc as well.. plus nyc pizza rules and chicago pizza is an acquired taste.. plus more opportunities in nyc than anywhere else in usa.. think about all the future networking you can accomplish.. in nyc vs chicago..
i like chicago, but nyc is home.

Do you know people in either city? Have you lived in either? Everyone should live in NYC for some time at least. If they pay more than apt + fun expenses, just go to NYC.

I've visited NYC and really loved it. My wife like Chicago. But, you guys are right. NYC has way more neat things, plus lasers.
