I'm probably gonna be at Breckenridge over MLK weekend. If it works out, anyone want to meet up? If it works out, probably gonna do Breckenridge on Friday, Keystone Saturday, and Breck again Sunday.
Will keep you posted. I'd be out there with one of my friends who skis.

super-noob question: but i've never had a new board. have always had used/hand-me-down boards that were broken in. do i need to get it waxed before use? i know it has the factory wax on it, but google is throwing me all sorts of different answers on this.
thanks in advance.
also thinking about picking up a pair of burton mission EST bindings (new off CL for $100). yes or no? i know the malivitas were recommended but they are about 2.5x the cost.
- since '90, i've never waxed a new deck before getting at least a few days on it.prophetone
- get malavitas or cartel set's. in the long run it's going to affect riding style and comfort, and it's cheap enoughprophetone
- when you're bombing a triple diamond and get into sketchy situations ur gonna want reliable quality under uprophetone
- just my 2 centsprophetone
- doesn't hurtdbloc

^ boards usually say factory waxed but I see no harm in putting a new coat on. You can sort of scrap your fingernails down it and see if it scratches the original wax. I do mine every two weeks. If you feel like you will ride often, get waxing supplies and do it yourself. It's a fun ritual.
Gonna assume that you're getting a Burton board with the channel system. That plus hinge EST bindings is a great setup. I have a 146 Nug and a 159W Joystick, and Cartel EST's. About to upgrade to Malavitas with the winged highback.

- waxing is funprophetone
- What board are you thinking about? What size do you usually ride and what is your height and weight? Type of terrain?mg33

@mg33. i'm getting the board i posted above. 154 burton sherlock flying v
i'm about 5'11, 160lbs and have always rode a huge wide board. wanted to go for something smaller/more agile.

Sweet! Those are supposed to be great. The Joystick evolved into that I think. I'm friends with the crew that work at the Burton flagship store here in Chicago, so pretty partial to their stuff. I've got a good shop up the block from me too and between the two shops I've always got all the in-person info I need.

I totally got skunked on my Mt Baker trip... "trace of new snow" the entire 6 days I was there.

once again, on here with a question. hopefully you guys know the answer...because i've been scouring the universe for the info.
using this binding with the channel board, are the little white hooks supposed to be pushed into the channel system of the burton board? they seem so flimsy, that if i were to push them down into the channel through the bubble they may break? but otherwise you can't adjust it very easily with them sometimes catching (but often floating around the channel).you guys are like my snowboard tech support :D Thanks!
