I think a lot of conceptual apps and situational development can be done with this, but it won't really take off until the tech is implanted in the eye, or fibre optic projects it onto the retina, either way it'll have to be an awful lot small and less intrusive.
Kind of like the transition from massive 70s roller skating headphones to invisible hearing aids..

I know the guy who is working at ESPN on the "glass team". They are throwing a lot of money into it in partnership with google to develop a whole slew of sports fan applications with this including current sport score updates, fantasy sporting applications, etc.
On one hand I think they are kinda ridiculous, but there is alot of big money being thrown around out there in anticipation of these things.

I for one won't be happy until there are lasers aimed directly into my eyes.

Someday, someone will invent the ability to display a projection in thin air, at a specific distance from your face. Who knows how they'd do it, but I bet we will see that someday. Imagine the tiny screen of this Glass gizmo expanded in front of you at arms length, with the ability to interact with it based on that distance, similar to what Kinect does - but with the interaction happening in front of you and the projection/interaction sensors coming from something on your head.
- it'd react to your eyes like a cross between Kinect and the new features on the Galaxy 4.Wolfboy
