He didn't necessarily do anything (terribly) wrong. Women do this to men quite routinely. Men do to. But you can guarantee there's another man involved.

its interesting to see the responses here. whilst i would love to answer questions to all of the above comments, im really in no position to definitively answer all of them, nor would i, if i really could. as we all know there is always two sides of the story.
He is in the position he is in, no matter how he got there, hes a good man, the best actually. to touch on some of the above points, shes always had money, family money, serious family money actually. im talking in the tens of milliions type money. he has not cheated, nor do we honestly believe she (as she is moving back to her home country, why leave for another then leave the country).
none of the above matters anyhow. just curious if anyone had experience with this sort of thing. its on another level and i wanted to crowd source some solid support for my mate. his wife left him without a word. thats pretty strange. i want to help my man.

have you considered kidnap?

ok. A friend got divorced for reason's that were not his fault or forseeable. He eventually saw it as an opportunity to re-invent himself. Nearly everything in his life was connected to her, friends, habits, banks, assets clothes home etc.
so, maybe your mate should deep six everything and shed who he was, become someone who see's another slice of life.
You sound like a good mate to have.

If her family has tens of millions then he should be wasting no time to get along to the best divorce lawyer possible and milking her for as MUCH as he can.
"I'm a nervous wreck"
"She's ruined my life"
"I can never put trust in anyone or into anything again"Get a nice chunk of play-cash from her so he can re-invent himself like Foz says above.

I'm pretty surprised people would suggest trying to get loads of money from her family.. I wonder how that would work exactly.
Her : 'I don't love you anymore'
Him : 'I want some millions then'
Her : 'See you in court'
Him (at court) : 'She doesn't love me anymore so I want some millions from her parents or her it doesn't matter really because I'm quite sad about it'
The Judge : 'Get the fuck out of my court you wee fanny, who the fuck do you think you are? you honestly believe you should be given money from someone who has fallen out of love with you?... If she sooked a few boabies when you were together that's a different story but fuck me you wee poofter you don't deserve anything if she just doesn't want to fuck you anymore' NEXT CASE YO!
