@TBO - QBN isn't racist, but provides for almost free speech (talk about competitors and Bertt Brash aside). It's this freedom of speech that racist types love, because they can propagate their ill conceived ideologies.

freedom of speech also allows non-bigots to spread their own propaganda about the differences between individuals based on personalities, ideologies and deeds rather than some genetic trait they had no control over.

A portrait of George Zimmerman paints the picture of a man obsessed with law enforcement, the very career that eluded him.

    http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/…

..."And another label has also stuck in the public’s perception: frustrated cop wannabe.

Over the years, his scores of calls to police showed he pursued shoplifters and errant drivers with zeal, reporting pit bulls, potholes, children playing in the street, open garage doors and “suspicious” youths — usually black males — loitering in the street.

He peppered his calls with jargon familiar to police. In one case, he chased a reckless driver while calling 911 — the driver later told police he was terrified that Zimmerman was going to attack him. In another case, Zimmerman tailed a supermarket shoplifter until a police officer successfully arrested the thief.

Dr. Laurence Miller, a Palm Beach County clinical psychologist who works with local police agencies, said he believes Zimmerman likely was acting out the “whole TV cop role in his head” when he confronted Trayvon.

“A lot of people like the power and control that law enforcement officers have but with that comes a tremendous amount of responsibility,” Miller said, pointing out that a police officer is the only profession that can use “coercive physical force” or lethal force to subdue a suspected criminal.

“People act like cowboys and like the power, but not the responsibility.”"

We should just blame it all on race so we can have a political agenda along with the media sensationalization (is that a word?), inciting anger in black people and widening the racial gap.

Leave some facts out too so we can further the cause.

i really dont get this. sounds like a dumb shit killing. Both dudes overreacting or even a single guy depending your view. How is this more important than any regular news story of dumb shit with a fark tag in florida? Is it only important because its everywhere making people think its more important and need to talk about ( yes im in that demo after seeing so much and getting curious about how one senseless act of violence is more important than others... power of media highlighting shit). Seems as senseless an pointless as any smoking gun story... I kinda see the attraction with zimmerman getting off at first but clearly looks like evidence will screw him. But still dont see how it gains so much attention. I cant help but think its no more valuable than the local news reporting on some stabbing or shooting. Why does this seem important?

The Miami Gardens teen who has become a national symbol of racial injustice was suspended three times, and had a spotty school record that his family’s attorneys say is irrelevant to the facts that led up to his being gunned down on Feb. 26.

In October, a school police investigator said he saw Trayvon on the school surveillance camera in an unauthorized area “hiding and being suspicious.” Then he said he saw Trayvon mark up a door with “W.T.F” — an acronym for “what the f---.” The officer said he found Trayvon the next day and went through his book bag in search of the graffiti marker.

Instead the officer reported he found women’s jewelry and a screwdriver that he described as a “burglary tool,” according to a Miami-Dade Schools Police report obtained by The Miami Herald.

It's good that all this has come out into the public scene, but honestly, in the end, Zimmerman will probably be charged with murder. I just wish we could get past all the song and dance a bit quicker.

Living in Mississippi, we do have the "castle laws" here that say we can defend ourselves in our own home, vehicle, and place of employment without fear of prosecution, which is good to have, in my opinion. The problem will always be the general public's interpretation of these laws.

    • I think he'll get charged with manslaughter.Josev

People's interpretation of "sef-defense" is the issue, to me........

so every example you give means a troubled teen deserves to get shot for walking in a neighborhood where it stays white out later. congrats. fuck you.

The cops told him not to pursue Martin, does that matter to you at all?

    • They told him that it wasn't necessary or that he didn't need to. sounds like it was optional.omg
    • Doesn't really matter. The guy wasn't law enforcement and had no right to stalk the kid.DrBombay
    • They said, "we do not need you to do that." Only a retard would get that confused.Jaline

When I was in 9th grade ... one night i went out to my local video store. On the way there as I'm crossing a road, I notice this car where the driver made this weird u-turn and was eyeballing me the entire time .. It was a cold drizzly night out so I had my black jacket and a skullcap on (suspicious looking for sure)
I get to the store and I rent a couple of movies and bought a couple of movie posters. On my way back. I cross that same road and now I'm in a shopping plaza parking lot where its night now and almost all the stores are closed. I'm walking when the same car comes whipping up from behind me like an action movie the guy hits his brakes and comes to a squealing stop. I swear, I think I saw smoke coming from the tires. The guy gets out about 5"6 180 pounds, older looking maybe in his mid-40's with a stache wearing a suit and tie.. screaming ":You!!! COME HERE!!! NOW!!!"
I say, "what? I didn't.. why?" ... He says "Police" and flashes something that looks like a badge "I said, COME HERE!!!"
to which I replied "I didn't do anything" and bolted.. fuuuuuuuuck

    I hear "stop Police...STOP... POLICE!!!"

I ran towards the shops .. one shop was still open.. it was a haircut place and so I enter it like a maniac all out of breath and scared as fuck and everybody turns their head to look at me and within seconds of entering the place I get shoved into the wall and now there's 3 of them including a female officer.

same dude starts with "What the fuck are you running from the police for? we could've shot you!!!" "whats in the bag?" .....
    "Just some rented movies"...
the female officer grabs the bag and searches... "just movies & posters sir"..

apparently there were several homes that were robbed nearby and these assholes thought I looked like the guy in their shitty little sketch.

so instead of saying sorry and our bad ... this guy continued with you never run from the cops .. I told him "look, you're dressed like a civilian driving an unmarked car.. what was I supposed to do?"

"I showed you my badge" ........ riiiiiiiiiight
could they have shot at me ??? ... "opps we shot the wrong guy.. dang"

if so, fuck!! that was close.

These stories that are coming out - do you think they're relevant, or not relevant? Personally, I think painting a picture of a person's character is really difficult in situations like this. Does anything in his past warrant him being murdered? Absolutely not. Does being caught with burglary tools, or a graffiti marker directly connect to what happened the night he was killed? No, of course not. But does the collective amount of things he may have gotten in trouble for help cast doubt in people's minds that he had no potential for doing something wrong the night he was killed? Yeah, probably.

One side wants to point the finger at Zimmerman for being a racist murdering vigilante way outside the limits of the law. The other side wants to find any shred of evidence that proves Martin was out breaking into houses and committing a crime serious enough to warrant Zimmerman's actions. A person is still dead, and there will be a serious division between what people believe happened, and what warranted his death in Zimmerman's mind as he shot him in self defense.

    More bout Zimmerman:

"His prior contacts with the law would have given police agencies pause.

In 2005, according to an arrest report, a state agent arrested Zimmerman for battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing justice. According to the report, agents with Florida’s Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco division were arresting several employees near the University of Central Florida.

Agent Paul Fleishman wrote that Zimmerman walked up to a pal under arrest and began chatting, refusing to leave. Zimmerman cursed him, Fleishman wrote, before pushing him and causing a “short struggle.”

The charge was later dropped when Zimmerman entered a “pre-trial diversion” program, which is not unusual for first-time offenders. The program usually entails paying fines and taking classes for anger management."

Before the case was resolved, he was also involved in a domestic dispute with his ex-fiancée, hair salon employee Veronica Zauzo.

Zauzo claimed Zimmerman was trolling her neighborhood to check on her. At her apartment, they spoke for about an hour when she asked him to leave. He asked for some photos and paperwork and she refused.

A pushing match ensued and her dog jumped up and bit him on the cheek, Zauzo claimed. Zimmerman, in a petition filed the next day, painted her as the aggressor, wanting him to stay the night.

“She accused me of going to another woman’s house or going to party,” wrote Zimmerman, who said Zauzo slapped, clawed and choked him."

Zimmerman gains more than 100 pounds since fatally shooting Trayvon Martin. A trial consultant said weight gain might hinder a defendant facing a violent crime charge.

  • mg330

The big thing is that minute or whatever it was that nobody knows what happened. Yeah, Martin could have been kicking that guy's ass as his own form of self defense, you know? Zimmerman could have been the instigator and snapped.

  • ohhhhhsnap0

New Black Panter has a $10,000 Bounty for finding Zimmerman.
How's that for a "CALL TO ACTION."

No matter how many hoodies go out into parks, this will never change unless there's some BIG shift cataclysmic mental shift. Hope something huge makes this take place... this year.

"Zimmerman was appointed by the town"
    Nope. Self-appointed captain

"It just so happens Trayvon was recently found with a tool to break into locked doors, among committing many other crimes"
Irrelevant. Zimmerman didn't know that. Know why? Because NO ONE knew who Trayvon even WAS. He was listed as a John Doe until the day after he was shot

At the point at which Zimmerman gets out of his car to pursue Trayvon, he is a vigilante, acting outside the guidelines of the law and the neighborhood watch. He, in this action, instigates the incident. He is at the very least partially culpable for the death and should be charged as such.
Additionally, Florida has no open carry laws, only concealed and travel carry. So the claim that Trayvon was going for the gun and that the shot was a result of the struggle means that Zimmerman had it out and was already prepared to use it.
Even stripping all racial context from this incident, Zimmerman should not walk off scott free. Though i would support the argument that he isn't scott-free as this will likely require him to abandon his life as he knows it, even if he's innocent. However i believe there should be legal repercussions as well.
