Mike Perry and I have been friends since 8th grade. He was the best man in my wedding. He is an amazing person with a mind that doesn't stop. This man creates work in his sleep, he is so prolific.
Like it or leave it, Mike Perry's work is a direct link to his person. If you knew him, the work would make more sense. He is a good salesman. The link to UO is legit, he worked there. Mike was pulling this stuff out at the beginning of this trend. He falls more on the side of setting this trend than following it. Either way, he is killing it.
Even if this wave died out, he would still be making the work he wants to make. He is just lucky that this style appeals to so many commercial clients. Good on him.

he's a really nice guy, and does a ton ton ton of work. like his style or not, he owns it. people seek him out to create...and create he does.

Midwestisbest - the OG - I would say Mike Perry is one of the most influential designers of the past decade.
