Do my fellow QBN'ers dig his work?
http://www.mikeperrystudio.com/
I can't figure out why all these big clients go to him. There's a ton of people who make work like this, and it all looks so dated and feminine.

A lot of his work reminds me of Paul Rand's.

I think I just posted because I felt that I was missing something. He has impressive clients, but I don't see much concept, and it all looks the same.
Usually this style of work is found on etsy or Threadless.
He is just a nicer person, maybe.

The cover here is nice, but the inside just looks like a high school kid's sketches, to me:

It's a simple formula but takes the amount of work that most people can not handle.
- develop a friendly style that you love and is easy on the eyes. a good sense of color helps.
- make new work every day, don't go out and party, just keep making new work for a few years. your style might look like other's but it will become your own over time.
- post it all online
- move to new york city to inevitably meet lots of people working in big creative fields.
- tell everyone you meet about what you do.
- be a nice person who is easy to work with.
- set up a meetings with an illustration rep who has big name clients.
- all the while keep making new work and updating your site.you will probably get a shot at a nike type of client in a few years.
