If it's Wes Anderson, I'm all in!

I think Wes Anderson started suffocating himself. When we first watched his movies, we thought that he brought a unique perspective with his cinematic visuals, quirky characters and unusual storyline. But with each movie I think he became his own enemy. I don't see that uniqueness anymore.
The cast can be the same, visuals can be the same but don't repeat the same story over and over again please.
Problemed parents, problemed kids, problemed families. Divorce or a loss of a family member. Brotherhood or relations between the siblings. It's turned into a movie series rather than individual movies.
I feel like he's become obsessed for being an auteur. But visuals wear off quicker, he needs better and DIFFERENT stories.

Looks great. Interesting that Wes broke away from his old standby Futura. Not sure how I feel about that.

Agree with bees. I know it's a movie about "coming of age" but it starting to seem like a one trick pony. Same awkwardness

Don't get me wrong in liked it but maybe one day he should come out and say that it was all part of a great twelvelogy and they were all related and come out as a genious

This was a great film. The random events like the dog and lightning were just fun irreverence that kept everything moving at a pace, you want to take of those bits out? They make it feel more like a kids way of telling a story when random events get thrown in because they thought it was funny.

Decent film. I kind of hate childhood romances though. Partly because I'm a robot and it all seems fake to me.

Looking forward to this one!

I saw it last night and it was incredible!

I had a few issues with it. Semi Spoiler alert..
1. Why did the dog have to die in such a terrible way
2. The kiddie porn undertones
3. Getting struck by lightning... wtf?I did like it, but it was not quite as good as I was hoping

How high would you rate it?
For me, Rushmore is by far the best Wes Anderson. Darjeeling Limited the worst.

I love it too. Saw it last weekend. Just the styling alone is worth the ticket price, the sets, the props. Then there's the great cast. The main kid is great, no idea how you even go about casting someone like him.
It was exactly what I'd hoped it would be

Fantastic Mr. Fox was a masterpiece.
Rushmore was boring.
- Max Fischer? Pull your head out of your ass, Dad.stoplying

Boring? It had the best story/script
Fantastic Fox was a kids movie
His newer movies have nice visuals, but the story is a bit incoherent
- I did like Fantastic Fox thoughyoungdesigner
