I think Wes Anderson started suffocating himself. When we first watched his movies, we thought that he brought a unique perspective with his cinematic visuals, quirky characters and unusual storyline. But with each movie I think he became his own enemy. I don't see that uniqueness anymore.
The cast can be the same, visuals can be the same but don't repeat the same story over and over again please.
Problemed parents, problemed kids, problemed families. Divorce or a loss of a family member. Brotherhood or relations between the siblings. It's turned into a movie series rather than individual movies.
I feel like he's become obsessed for being an auteur. But visuals wear off quicker, he needs better and DIFFERENT stories.

    • Don't agree. A lot of great art has been made by artist who focus on one or two themes their entire life.Sep
    • I felt this did a few new things from his past movies while still being an Anderson movie.nikdaum
