I like that story. In many ways his neurotic behaviour that people label as genius reminds me of Kubrick.

So I'm about 50% through. I picked it up not out of zealous fawning for Jobs, but hopefully for some business/leadership vignettes. Moreover, I haven't read a good bio in a while, so ...
I agree with @inv. I always knew Jobs was temperamental, but so far, my general feeling is, "Wow, Steve was a raging asshole who demanded everyone listen to him, and if they didn't, he called them or went to meet with them in person so he could berate them." Also, Steve cries a lot.
Sorry to say, but Jobs comes across as a real Stalin so far in this bio.

"I'm sorry Steve."
"That's ok Siri, take care."
"You too Steve."

One of the, perhaps, least mentioned side effects of organ transplants (Steve Jobs had his liver replaced) is that one unfortunately has to continue life on a steady regimen of anti-rejection medication, which effectively trick the immune system into shutting down, in order for it to stop trying to reject the new organ. The net result is pretty much the same as having HIV, as this compromised immune system leaves you open to just about every sort of illness or disease, because the immune system can't fight anything off.
That must have been Hell to live with, and Jobs carried on nonetheless as much as he could, almost right to the end, and that takes bigger balls than most of us will ever have.
RIP Steve.

Steve Jobs Memorial Held
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB…Executives from throughout the technology and media industries were expected to attend.
A walkway in front of the church, which sits near a sculpture garden, was illuminated with small white lights. The weather was crisp and cool, and guests were served hors d'oeuvres in a clearing adjacent to the church.
The service was expected to be followed by a reception on campus, according to invitees.

Stunned. Makes me think of all the time I spent on my Apple IIe when I was a kid, how I've been enjoying his products for most of my life. Rest in peace.

It's sad news. 56 is too young. Let's hope that someday there is a cure for cancer.
