"Our weekly iPhone sales continue to be impacted by rumors,” says Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer.
aww, that's too bad, poor guy :(
So sad they're not lapping up the frivolous upgrades for no noticeable difference in call quality or reception
- Curious: how do you know there will be no noticeable difference? Link?Gucci
- i meant from the first to the 4s, very little is changing regarding phone qualityalbums
- it's becoming more computer, still no attention to the phone functionalityalbums
- as was evidenced when holding a phone lost reception http://www.wired.com…albums

Stop saying "need" as if they won't sell millions of the new model no matter what. The first iPhone was "amazing," the rest have been incremental upgrades, and each release sells 50% more models than the last. If history tells us anything, Apple will release a faster, nicer new model with some new features and upgrades (most of which we know about already), it will sell more models than any model preceding it, and people like fadein11 will still say it's a failure even though it sells more models than any competitor's phone.
- I guess my point is that every 6 months someone says Apple "needs" to do something or they'll failmonospaced
- but even when they don't, they don't failmonospaced

my money is waiting for Apple. I WANT that iPhone badly. My old 3GS feels like an old Pentium III right now.
- If you nuke/reset it would it still be sluggish after a week of use? Could be designed to that way. Wouldn't surprise me.Peter
- My 3GS got speedier with iOS5 but I never went past 5.01, heard bad stories about 5.1 performance.raf
- pff i still have a 3G. jailbroken on iOS4, it runs like a slug. and yes, it does seem to clog up over time. weird.hans_glib
- 3GS here also got it on a refurbish discount $49.00 2 year contractteh

its going to have to be amazing if they want to regain market share... something too similar to the 4/s will go down like a lead balloon
- so, short of amazing Apple is out of the phone business? puhleasemonospaced

$99 for an adaptor? Let's tone down the hyperbole just a tad.
Apple currently sell entire sync cables for $19, so I'd be *very* surprised if an adaptor went for more than $10 (with 3rd party ones going for even less). One month after release, it'll be a complete non-issue.

At least Apple only have one phone, that gets an upgrade every 12 months minimum.
Look at Samsung/Nokia/Sony etc. They have dozens of models, new ones of each of those coming out every few months, each upgrade of each model supposedly better than the others, then a new version of another model comes out and that is apparently suddenly the best.
Pffff... One phone. One upgrade path. Ooooooosh!

Folk bitching about how easy it is to crack the iphone screens by dropping it ....
... is that how you usually treat stuff that you pay £500+ for or is money no object that you can just chuck it around and not actually take care of it?
