I liked event horizon. I really liked it. I had an enhanced experience though. I was flying back from new york, middle of the night in winter at the back of the plane. Massively pissed and we'd experienced the absolute mother of all turbulence. It had frightened the living shit out of everyone. The plane had plummeted numerous times and had been violently kranged to the point that it had made some terrifying sounds like it was about to break up. There had been quite a partyish atmosphere before hand, fairly empty plane, load of strangers getting pissed and chatting. After this though, pale faces. Silence. Big eyes and woeful expressions.
Then the film started and everyone watched it to take our. Minds off. Event horizon for fuck's sake. It was, I have to say, one of the scariest film experiences of my life.
Never seen it since mind you.

As I kid I'd always have a new film obsession "OMG This is my new favourite film ever!!"
These days it seems there's always something off or wrong with these big blockbusters. Especially here with Prometheus, it seemed to come so so close yet so far to being a masterpiece. I guess old age is a factor as well... Either way I really hope Ridley doesn't mess up the Bladerunner sequel.

Saw it last night, Awesome movie and the 3D was really good. The graphics were top. Fuck the negative reviews, It's been a while since I saw a Sci-fi movie this good.
TL/DR the whole thread but that final scene leaves room for one more movie...

I liked it, what's truly a crime are the remakes of Paul Verhoeven movies.

We are in Paris right now and saw it last night in English. The French subtitles were fun to follow.
Had a lot of expectations for the movie and honestly felt a bit let down. Everything about the visuals was awesome, but the story and a lot of dialog felt kind of flat. They were all very quick to just figure stuff out, often with little backing it up. Lots of conclusion jumping that made it seem hasty and trying to meet a time limit.
Anyone else feel that way?
