wow that was beyond epic. So hopeless and then the epic conclusion. The crew of Game of Thrones set a new bar for television battles and on par with the best action scenes in movies.
So good!

That was fucking tits! From start to finish, one of the best moments of TV i have ever seen. My head it still flying through so much emotions...

Downvote me all you want, but that show was the equivalent of Donald Trump serving McDonalds on $500,000 state silver and pretending it's filet mignon. and the people who defend it will eat it the fuck up and play along.
the gaps in logic needed to assume that every main character on the front line survived after a dothraki horde was wiped out in 20 seconds, not to mention the hour's worth of carnage after - not even including after the dead get raised, and everyone somehow survives again... i don't know if it's laziness or a desire to create some "few vs all" narrative at king's landing but that was unbelievably bad writing.
yes, the action was great, except for the parts where main characters were swarmed under entire piles of undead only to survive. but come the fuck on. the writers were obviously out of their depth last season with the whole "7 people go north, take on the undead, survive and make it back in a few hours" ... this was just inexcusable for being the ultimate battle built since S1E1 scene 1.
- i have only loved thsi show for the fight scenes - both their execution but also the emotional weight they carry. that was hollywood transformers.colin_s
- Yeah it's missing the nihilistic spirit of the first few seasons where expectations were constantly undermined.yuekit
- It's now become much more of a standard fantasy story. Biggest disappointment for me is that they killed off the night king or whatever his name was withoutyuekit
- delving into his motivations or back story. I was hoping for some sort of twist there but turns out he's just yet another evil guy who wants to wipe out theyuekit
- world for no apparent reason lol.yuekit
- even without nihilistic spirit, this was beyond the scope of reality. everyone on the front lines / in the main battle died except the main castcolin_s
- how did they manage to make the 'biggest fight scene' seem so fucking small. really piss poor everything.kingsteven
- and yet they managed to kill off the only 3 actors i knew of before GOT???kingsteven
- @colin That was definitely an issue in terms of the main cast (even the fat neckbeard guy) all miraculously surviving. Just saying, the bigger disappointmentyuekit
- Even though I mostly enjoyed this episode, you're right. This was the most un-GOT episode yet. White Walkers slaying everyone and ...section_014
- IMO is the lack of new storytelling ideas. Anyone could have come up with this ending -- no real twists or surprises there at all.yuekit
- ... marching to king's landing would have been more fitting. With maybe one or two survivors from the main cast.section_014

Best death metal music video.

well that was a giant turd but tell me this, did Sam survive? Last I saw of him he was crying in a pile of corpses as John Snow dandered past on his way to unsuccessfully scream at a dragon...
- probably gonna be one of those "moments" where they sift through bodies and either way designed to tug at heartstringscolin_s
- I hope he's deadkingsteven

Haven't seen it yet, but opinions seem pretty sharply divided on this one, yeah?
- tbh. i didn't think it was a good show in the first place and just want to see them all die horrible deaths.kingsteven
- I'm almost done with the first season. Overall as boring as the books I read a decade ago. Gonna stick through just because and finish it.monospaced
- It's a great episode and a spectacle to behold for anyone who has eyes. Opinions may vary, but the work, it's all good.robthelad

I had a choppy stream but the Dothraki obviously weren’t using dragon glass but how about that magic flame? I guess that had no effect on the walkers? Why not properly arm your best fighters? And no way they lose that quickly but Theon takes out 100 walkers single handily lol
- 100 vs a fucking tidal wave.inteliboy
- ^ ya, when we saw the wights first hit the front lines, it literally looked like a tsunamiGnash
- But maybe the Dothraki did fight well maybe they killed 50 walkers for every man lost but couldn’t keep up with the tsunami as you said_niko
- and why didn't they use the catapults again as soon as it was clear the horsey guys were toast?Gnash
- Lol yeah thought about that too_niko

The whole episode was beyond expectation to be honest. The design of this show is outstanding, the visuals, the compositions, the editing, the music... ffs the music was so well done.
I need to watch it a few more times.
- Some scenes reminded me of fesbenders Macbeth, which was visually stunning_niko
- yep and yep.helloeatbreathedrive

worst outcome for me. at least its only 3 episode left of the constant bickering about who should be king or queen or whatever. Night King, to me, was the most interesting element in the show. now... meh
yawn
The episode was really well done. Great. story... not so much

While I'm a bit surprised that the expected GoT culling didn't happen, I don't think that the survival of central characters was just poor, or lazy, writing. Over the course of the story, the characters have all developed into, or were revealed to be, heroes -- just like the epic heroes of Greek poetry. this battle certainly had echoes of the siege of Troy.

well the good thing is, when George Martin gets around to finally writing the conclusion, it'll be nothing like this, not even close.
this will be a bad dream or an alternate reality as witnessed by the raven, a big what if.
Martin's version will be bloody, brutal and unfair. but glorious.
- but who shot JR?MrT
- martin needs to put down the cruller and pick up the pensarahfailin

Also because it was so dark, I had a hard time figuring out what happened with the Dragons.
Was the one that almost fried Jon Snow in the end the first dragon that the night king had captured or was this one turned in this episode after being swarmed by the horde?
in the end only one dragon came back to the queen correct (and was MIA for most of the battle)?
- I also only saw the last 25 minutes, then went back and watched 20 minutes of the beginning that were choppy, so I need to watch the whole thing properly._niko

Just watched it. It's ... well, it's arse-flatteningly long. And it kind of felt like I ate three party-sized pizzas in a row, after watching this; too much of a good thing.
Now, I'm left wondering if the remaining three episodes will be even remotely interesting. With the threat of the White Walkers gone, it kind of feels like the whole Cersei/King's Landing arc is just mundane daily business.
- I will admit, though, I was really sad about Lyanna. But she did her bit, and was heroic to the very end.Continuity
- the "greatest threat in the world" was so easily overcome, seems like cersi would be nothing, esp with 2 dragons stillcolin_s
- There's also the added problem that a few characters have basically no investment in the Cersei arc and, thus, nothing really to do now.Continuity
- Like Jon Snow; I doubt very much he gives much of a rat's arse about the Lannisters.Continuity
- anti-climactic for sure. Should have slaughtered 80% of them then the remaining fall back to king's landing for an unholy allience with Cersei for a final stand_niko
- "easily over come" Wasn't the entire north just wiped out except for a bunch of the main characters?inteliboy
- Amazing episode, but disappointed only that no more main characters died. I thought Arya, the hound and maybe Tormund would escape and get to KL for a scrap.Luda

- I was laughing so hard at Barry. Holy shit that whole episode was so funny. And the possessed daughter out of this world was hilarious.Boz
- whats that?Bennn
- Barry on HBO. This episode came on right after the big battle on GOT.Ramanisky2

The real question is after this episode.. Is Arya actually Azor Ahai - The Prince That Was Promised ? Sure looks like it.
"If you're unfamiliar with the prophecy, the prince that was promised is implied to be the reincarnation of Azor Ahai, a legendary warrior who lived thousands of years ago. According to Melisandre, a red priestess of the Lord of Light, the prophecy goes like this: "Darkness will fall heavy on the world. Stars will bleed. The cold breath of winter will freeze the seas, and the dead shall rise in the North. In the ancient books, it is written that a warrior will draw a burning sword from the fire. And that sword will be the Lightbringer."
- Nerd alert!BK
- : osea_sea
- She didn't draw a burning sword from a fire... but with RR's shit writing, who's paying attention to details!zarkonite
- Maybe she did, symbolically, through BericBrokenHD
- "The word for “prince” in Valyrian is actually gender-neutral, meaning the prophecy could be the Prince That Was Promised — or the Princess That Was Promised."whatthefunk
- hehe wtf ;)jaylarson
- Dany is Azor Ahai, she's the best fit for the prophecy.i_monk

What was bran’s meditation moment with the crows about?
Dude has the ultimate poker face so a bit hard to read any tells...
Ravens flew into the storm to find the night kings location? And did it matter? Bran speaks like a depressed beatnik.
Was this battle just one his visions?
- maybe he was keeping arya aliveGnash
