how many times can they regurgitate this f-in genre. It's the same damn movie over and over again.
- <honestly
- as it will turn out, the non-infected people are more of a threat than the zombies. it's different.kona

i personally cant get enough of zombie apocalypse movies or post apocalypse movies in general.
This looks like its gonna be pretty awesome because it doesn't have to wrap up in 2hrs, its not a quest to live through the night. its really living through a changed world. I hope the show does well.

The Road is such a depressing movie, with some really intense scenes. Worth watching though.

I just picked up volume 1 of the comic tonight. Don't really read comics but I'm too interested in where the show's going to go to not dive into it and read it.
Can someone tell me: I've seen a few of you say that the show was totally spot-on for how the book is, yet there's nothing in the book about the guy struggling to shoot his wife. I thought this was a pretty important scene. I assume there will be a bit of liberty taken with the show to add more gripping elements than the book has?
- Saw an interview where they said the show will take it own path on some things.BRNK

I bought this motherfucker last year. Contains issues 1-48, 1088 pages, weighs a ton, read the whole damn thing in about a week. Such a brilliant story. And it is definitely not your typical "zombie movie" as people are claiming. There is so much human drama, character development, story telling. Almost like the zombies are in the background more than anything.
I'm interested in seeing who plays this sadistic sack of shit (here's hoping the series makes it that far):
- So I should probably throw down the $$ for that instead of 48 individual issues? That's about $480mg33
- I would. The dimensions are slightly smaller, but not by much. $35 on Amazon.elahon

- Then pick up this, issues 49-60:

# 1 Driftmonkey I cant wait till they introduce Michonne, she's a great character the whole storyline with the governor was off the chain! And for those that think this is just another zombie movie you've obviously never readt the comics....its so much more than that.

I can't get around, whether its this or 28 Days Later, that no one is surviving the zombie apocalypse being unconscious in a hospital.
You're basically free food in a place full of dead, dying and infected people. There would be zombies everywhere.
- But you're ok with the part about the living dead. Right. =)DRIFTMONKEY
- You mean Conservatives?ETM
- Anyway, when you suspend disbelief, you have to make every other element as rational as possible to really sell it.ETM
- The things we know, people, places, events, reactions, otherwise should be as plausible as possible.ETM
- When that happens, it somehow makes the fantastic elements that much more believable IMO.ETM

Can't wait for "28 Months Later"

@ETM The comic does imply that the zombies aren't too bright when characters use zombie guts to disguise themselves... but I can't help but thinking along the same lines you are. If all it takes to fool zombies is lying still and breathing slowly, why not just do that any time you see some?
I guess that's where suspending disbelief is key... stuff like this is no fun if you're too rational about it.

- damn it.discoduro

The premise behind the zombies is kind of weird. In the "Walking Dead" world, if you die by any means, you return as a zombie. Meaning if one of the main characters chokes on his baked beans, he's going to come back as a zombie.
Being bitten by a zombie kills you very quickly - but your fate to return as a zombie is already sealed.
I guess that makes things fairly interesting.
- Woah, woah, woah, spoilers buddy. They don't reveal that for a while.DRIFTMONKEY
- The first episode already had nodded to it. It's a spoiler?kult
