Yeah I guess that's the only explanation, everyone is already infected.
- CygnusZero40
So it's some sort of airborn disease. Everyone on Earth already has it.

On a different note, is T-Dog at any point going to be more than a glorified extra? Does he have a a story arc in the comic?
- I find it hilarious the 1 black guy is called t-dog. Why isnt he called Harry? RACIST!!!!CygnusZero4
- t-dog wasn't in the comic. in the comic it was tyreese... and he was a complete badass.kona
- HAAHAAA TYRESE!CygnusZero4
- it does seem racistmonospaced
- Tyreese was the shit in the comic.elahon
- NOOO dont say T-dog is Tyrese?! Think so? There was another black guy but he died early on. They can seriously make T-dog = Tyrese.....Ironmonkey
- I never heard them calling him T-Dog until the last couple of episodes.CyBrainX

"If that was the case, Rick would have known Shane would reanimate."
i thought about this too. He did give Fatty a headshot in the bar even though it was clear he was dead. And Rick was still strattling Shane's corpse when Carl walked up. If this IS what the CDC guy whispered, i would suspect that Rick may have been growing a little skeptical. He saw the guards at the failed Randall drop off and it reawoke that suspicion. So he was waiting for Shane to reanimate to see if it was true (rather than popping him in the head and never knowing for sure). But then Carl came by and distracted him.

Was it just me, or did Shane kinda act like a zombie at the end there? He had a blank stare, a weird limping slow gait, and he was breathing heavily and kinda groaning. I almost thought he was partially there for awhile.
- yes he was a zombie. bites don't matter they find out.digdre
- no, I mean, he was acting like one as they were walking through the woods, still alivemonospaced
- Lol he was always like that with the blank stare.CygnusZero4
- i agree mono. After he smashed his nose he had the blood around the mouth, the zombie breathing, etc...locustsloth
- nice foreshadowing on the part of the showlocustsloth
- I think it was more to demonstrate that he had fully snapped. He was 100% gone, soulless.ETM

I dont think they knew they all had it. Thats why Daryl and Glen were surprised in the woods to see a walker that didnt have any bites. I think they all thought you had to get bit.
Thats why in season 1 when they had to cut up that walker they wore plastic bags to protect themselves. Although this is a plot hole because we've seen them kill walkers constantly and get blood on themselves.
- exactly, these guys practically bathe in zombie gutsmonospaced
- But we've seen them try to avoid it, so they didnt know they were already infected. Now they do.CygnusZero4
- We can't assume they all are, right?monospaced
- Why not? It must be airborn. How can some have it and not others?CygnusZero4
- How? Well, some people have more contact with zombie germs than others, that's how.monospaced
- Assuming global airborn is naive.monospaced
- That's silly. All of them have been around zombies for who knows how long now.CygnusZero4
- all of the ones we know about, but not everyone on the planetmonospaced
- locustsloth0
In theory Rick and the CDC guy are the only ones who know everyone is already infected. And if everyone is already infected, it doesn't much matter if you throw a couple of dead walkers on top of you to hide from 'live' ones. You can't get MORE infected
- CygnusZero40
If Rick knew, why didnt he shoot Shane in the head after stabbing him? He got up and walked away. I dont think he knew.
- because he was distraught, the man just killed his old best friend...tank02
- I dont think Id forget that he was going to come back as a zombie and try to kill me.CygnusZero4
- and his son showed up as wellRamanisky2
- CygnusZero40
Shit, actually if he did know, why the hell wouldnt he tell everyone? I would think that would be some helpful info to know. "Oh wait, Im fighting a zombie and I dont even have to worry about getting his blood on me". Sweet! Instead these people are running around thinking if they get a scratch by one they're dead.
- exactly. I don't think there's any sort of true understanding among the charactersmonospaced
- ukit20
Do you think T-Dogg is a substitute for Tyrese in the comics?
- monNom0
if everyone is already infected, maybe zombie's bites are like monitor lizards: they give you a bad bacterial infection when they bite, and you die of septicemia. It would make sense since they're all rotting flesh and stuff.
- digdre0
Well, it explains why there were almost no dead bodies... like... everywhere in the cities/cars/...
- weren't there dead bodies on the highway?vwsung18t
- Yes. I guess not everyone is infected.CygnusZero4
- Shows the virus is still spreading? Many cars were empty. Some of the car victims could have had head trauma.ETM

I'm still perplexed that people thought the CDC guy was telling Rick his wife was pregnant. Why tell Rick but not Lori? (No, he couldn't tell if the father was Shane from a blood test on the mother, so don't even go there.)
The writing this season has been awful, mostly. The Sofia reveal was heart-wrenching, and I'm glad they finally killed Shane, but the budget cut really made for a dishwater-dull season.
- twokids0
they could have had six great episodes, like last season. Instead they had 12?+ with long boring episodes with a good moment or two. I am so done with them being on the farm.
The last episode where Shane was finally offed was a mess - what was that part where they hacked up a bunch of zombies? No context. Why suddenly they are boarding up the house? One line from Herschel explaining it, barely.....what are those flash cuts off zombies in the woods?
I think I am done with this show.
- I felt those points were fairly well covered, tbh.detritus
- you sure you're watching the same show?ArmandoEstrada
- i_monk0
The flash cuts were Rick imagining what Shane was becoming. I suspect the season finally will include the line from the comics:
As for the rest, they were consolidating their defences with winter coming. It was pretty clear. With the shot at the end of the zombies in the woods hearing the gun shots, it's pretty clear they're setting up a siege-and-abandon-the-farm finale.
- desmo0
The first 2 or 3 episodes were definitely drawn out. Clearly just milking advertising time. but the latest episodes have been really good.
I feel like I need to read to graphic novel again - just to compare story lines.

How far through the comic book's arc is the TV series now?
- well carl kills shane in issue #6
(out of 94 and counting)e-pill - Cool so we have about 20 more seasons to look forward to. Sweet.CygnusZero4
- well carl kills shane in issue #6
- ukit20
In the comics they leave the farm in book 12 (out of 94 and counting).
- ukit20
In the comic, the events after the farm are when the story really takes off.
I'm guessing they will pare back some of the more gruesome moments for the TV version.
- They really wimped out on Dale's death for instance...ukit2
- And Shane's.i_monk
- Dale's? I saw a zombie tear his body open with his hands exposing his guts.CygnusZero4
- How do to take that further, have the zombie start having sexy with his corpse?CygnusZero4
- IIRC, Dale gets infected by a bite but then cannibals capture him, cook his legs and eat them.i_monk
- Yeah thats completely cheesy. I couldnt take this show seriously watching that.CygnusZero4
