speaking of which... check this cowboy out:

Well...shit, it took literally months, but I finally squeezed out 3 bronzes in the Sebastian Vettel challenge and got an X1. I finished it with a controller and not a wheel, but I think a wheel would make it easier.

can't wait.
- CygnusZero40
Awesome, only took them 6 years to finish it. I like when Kaz said that this was the videogame equivelant of the apollo moon landing.

So I've been grinding away, and keep peaking out at 20mil as I pick up diff cars from the user car dealer for a mil or two here and there.. just waiting for a good find to pop up.. and there she was:
about 12.5 mil used. and sooooo worth it. with this car you can drive the expert historic car cup cold and still win first place. yow!

btw, it's kind of funny that i wasn't really taking this game too seriously at first and now i'm like the only nob posting in this thread.

They're already working on 6.
My guess is that'll be done by 2020.
- SteveJobs0
what was your first car? i picked up a mazda 'roadster' for mine, which is basically a miata. not too much hp, but it handles pretty well.

^ If you're being sarcastic, that's a tired argument. People play games as a break from reality. It's just entertainment. And most of us don't have access to race people, especially in expensive, exotic cars, so it's really the next best thing. And it's a hell of a lot safer.
Do you watch movies? If you watch a movie about mountain climbers, there are real mountain climbers that say the same thing about those movies, "Meh, I can just go do the real thing derp derp". You don't want to be like those pretentious pricks.

i saw a re-used texture in there. i think i'll wait until GT6 in 2025 when they've put some real time and effort into this game..

I would love to see it proposing real environment situation ; something closer to flight simulator but with cars :)
Driving from north europe to south, through GPS checkpoint, with traffic etc... that would be great (like vette on PC more than 10years ago)So much details just to drive on closed tracks... bummer.
- get the game test drive unlimited 2 when it comes out, it's exactly what it iselektro
- that's what I plan to do.
GT5 looks much more realistic tho.dyspl - Vette! Forgot about that, and that was almost 20 yeras ago.duckofrubber

also, i want to get out of the car and go hike one of those amazing picturesque mountains in the background, or stop and have a cup of coffee at one of those quaint little cafe's lining the cobblestone streets. where's the freedom in this game???
- it's not GTA.. they've spent 3 years modeling the Nürburgring..elektro
- and if you don't know what the Nürburgring is, then this game is definetly not for youelektro
- Wasnt it 2 years to model the ring?CygnusZero4
- something between 2-3 years.. i know they've even recreated the graffitis on the trackelektro

just a few more gripes...
I hate having to try to figure out what car is eligible for a race then have to go find it in the used car show room. There has to be an easier way that trying to remember 15 cars or writing them down. Also I wanted to try to race 'carts online one night. After waiting to get into a room and waiting and watching them finish the race I went to hit start/enter race and it told me I didn't have a 'cart to race with and I didn't feel like trying to figure out where to buy one and start all over.
All in all my biggest gripe is to much hunting around, flipping through pages and not enough racing.
Looks great though when you can finally race.
- yyyep. not all of us want to 'level up' approach to a *racing* game, we wanna race!SteveJobs
- Totally agree fooler2.seeessess
- if you want to level up do the special events. If you want cars do the license test.elektro
- Arcade mode. Dont need to level up there.CygnusZero4

because this is as close as you or anyone else (except for jay leno, maybe) will get to racing such a huge library of cars. believe me, if i could be doing this in real life, i would. i never thought the game would pull me in, but the realism is pretty top notch and of course, there's that addictive factor that you get in almost any game these days of 'leveling up' and buying stuff with your rewards. i don't play a lot of video games anymore, but this one is worth my time.
- it's not close at all... no cars, no track... just your pale ass and a controller and a screenmonospaced
- moldero0
goKart, ive been waiting for this!
the last version of GT5 "prologue" sucked, nothing like 2 and 3 or was it 3 and 4.
- SteveJobs0
^ i was just being facetious, but honestly, some of those environments are so amazing and beautifully detailed, it's a damn shame you can't explore them. few other game genres put so much effort into the realism of the game. imagine a first person shooter that looked like this. (sidenote: apart from RDR and RE5, i've been out of gaming for a while, so maybe so maybe they do have these kinds of visuals in more recent games?)
- in the photomode you can get out the car and take pictureselektro
- yeah, but can you shoot anyone? (not with the camera)SteveJobs
