awww maaaate. Thats sucks, really sorry to hear it. *hug*
RIP kind soul.Sadly i know from experience that its difficult, because you will always think hes around, just out of habit. You drop a plate and instantly think to calm your friend, who is no longer there. For months, almost a year after my dog died i could swear i could feel her brush past my leg day in day out.
At these moments try your best to see the positive side, have a little smile and a moment for him.
Hope you're as ok as you can be dude.
- last night was the first night without a greet or cuddle up on the couch from him.. :(Ramanisky2

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches. The ears are up. The eyes are staring. And this one suddenly runs from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

sorry for your loss. I don't have any pets, but I've become attached to my folks cats. they had 6 since I was in highschool, now it is down to 1. each time i visit these days it feels like it'll all be over very soon (I am visiting now). life can be quite sad.

question for you guys ...
They told me at the vet that most people have their cat cremated and the ashes either mailed to them or they have the ashes put in a pet cemetery.
What are your thoughts on this? what is the best option?
- years ago with my dog i had her cremated. i picked them up in a simple urn a few days later.kona
- i spread the ashes in the backyard of my parents house where she loved to play.kona
- when my pup passed away 2 years ago i took his ashes.404
- Take the ashes & put them in a special place. That's what I did, anyway.Lifeinvector
- he was never an outdoors cat .. I feel like it would be weird to hold on to his ashes .. maybe notRamanisky2
- Whatever's right for you. :)Lifeinvector
- I had my dog's ashes in an urn in my cupboard for years. Finally found a resting place for them.Melanie

I'm sorry, may your grief be brief and beneficial. And get another cat after some time. You'll be glad you did.

Just had to put my cat down a couple months ago. Belly cancer. Not much worse then having to put down a pet. Best damn home office manager I ever had.
I feel for ya.
Funny, the vet that came to our place to do the deed sent me a card with almost the same rainbow bridge poem. Actually made me feel a lot better (and gave us some good comic relief with all the rainbow jokes that came out of it.).

He looks identical to my Girlfriend's old cat Hamlet, he was around for 17 years, sounds like the cats had similar disposition. She still talks about him weekly.

I had to have my Maine Coon put down a few years ago. She (I guess like all cats) spent a lot of time watching (and going crazy over) the birds that hung out outside of the living room window, so I had her cremated and sprinkled her ashes in this grove of trees out on the cape where birds congregate. It seemed fitting for her and made me feel better about what had happened.
- I think there are laws against doing this, but oh wellJosev
- thanks Josev .. that sounds lovely .. I'll def consider something like thisRamanisky2
- Laws against spreading your pets ashes in some trees? I dont think so.CygnusZero4
- I think it was on state park land, and it is illegal. Not that anyone would care, I suppose.Josev
