I know countries violate UN resolutions all the time. It make a mockery of the intent of the Security Council.
I am asking if people think this is right.
If they do think it is right, where is the base of legitimacy?

Of course it isn't right. If a country decides to be a member of the UN, then it needs to agree to play by the rules.

So what did we learn today?

- That there will be more movies about the holocaustPixter

We learnt that it's geo-political business as usual, and that people have a right to their own opinions.

At the end of the day, what kind of resolution are you going to have without a deal (peace settlement) with the Palestinians?
Actions like this are pushing that further and further away.
- The only way this will truly resolve itself is if Israel is left to its own devices, and not have other countries shielding it all the time.Continuity

Looks like A new boat is on its way to Gaza, that's absolutely what needs to be done just like Ghandi against the british. pacifism, human rights or violence intolerance, you choose, the world will choose.
- Or just like the Zionists against the UK Blockade in 1945. History is a funny fucking thing, ain't it.TheBlueOne

I think most of the peeps posting the outrageous anti-semetic stuff are agent provocateurs to distract from actual criticism of the Israeli state policy. Nice work...
Meanwhile, Turkey for one has had enough:
"Israel's behavior should definitely, definitely be punished," a visibly angry Erdogan told a meeting of his parliamentary deputies, adding: "The time has come for the international community to say 'enough'."

Ireland is officially supporting another aid ship, leaving for Israel today:
"The MV Rachel Corrie, a converted merchant ship bought by pro-Palestinian activists and named after an American woman killed in the Gaza Strip in 2003, set off Monday from Malta, organizers said. "We are an initiative to break Israel's blockade of 1.5 million people in Gaza. Our mission has not changed and this is not going to be the last flotilla," Free Gaza Movement activist Greta Berlin, based in Cyprus, told Reuters.
Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen described the vessel as Irish-owned and said it should be allowed to finish its mission. The ship was carrying 15 activists including a northern Irish Nobel Peace laureate."
I think this little gamesmanship playing schtick that Israel has gotten away with for 50+ years is about past it's due date and the bill is about to come due.
- mossad's gonna disable the ship in cyprus, like they did with 2 of the recent flotilla.bigtrickagain

Now that I've had time to get a feel for what's going on...
It seems to me that the floating convoy was an absolute provocation toward Israel... they more than new better to expect Israel to board them given the current blockade...
... the folks on that ship were ready to beat and cut whatever Jew stepped aboard...
... what am I missing here? The Jews (from what I can see... were defending themselves)...
... now... my only Q to the Jews - what gives you the right to block off that waterway? What makes that specific area 'yours' to control? If this is part of a Jewish response to all those missiles being hurled into their country... I guess I get it - self defense etc... but wow what a shitty situation...
My comments aren't meant to take sides here - I truly could care less which of these religions attempts to wipe out the other one... ... neither of them is 'holy' in my eyes... ... so - once again I'm left asking - how do you fight faith? How do you help BOTH sides see what a bunch of douchebags they're being?
I have no clue what to make of this situation, btw... I just reiterated what I've come to understand from all the news stories posted and the media I've been reading / listening to...

"
Israeli military aircraft came under anti-aircraft fire over Lebanon on Tuesday but there were no casualties, an Israeli security source said. The source said the fire was aimed at Israeli planes on reconnaissance flights over southern Lebanon. An Israeli military spokesman had no immediate comment.
Tension has risen in the region since nine people were killed aboard a Turkish-backed aid ship heading for the Gaza Strip when Israeli commandos seized the vessel in Mediterranean waters on Monday."
