"The Jews (from what I can see... were defending themselves)..."
What part of a ship on international waters when boarded by commandos form a helicopter gunship do you not fucking understand?
Seriously? Are you going to defend wife beaters next?
"Well, she deserved it for provoking me, so I had to beat the bitch officer. Surely you understand..."

blueOne... get a grip...
... I'm talking about when they boarded the ship and were attacked by the pipes and knives... they didn't go in guns blazing.
wife-beating?
...nice melodramatic jump outside the topic...
:)- They still have no right to board those ships.georgesIII
- right... and I commented on that!! I asked what gave them the right... ... I didn't take any sides... jeeeeeeeeeeeezPonyBoy

TBO... from your earlier post about new boats. The Irish Government have always held a strong position on Palestine.
More recently, Israel pissed of Ireland (and other governments) big time by allowing Mossad assassins forge Irish Passports used during the assassination of a Hamas representative in Dubai.

The UK and Australia also expelled Israeli Diplomats over the passport affair
- It happened with Canadian passports, too, some years ago.Continuity

In other news, Mordechai Vanunu that has already spent 18 years in jail for revealing that Israel had nuclear weapons has been sent back to jail for three months.
His recent jailing is because he has a Norwegian girlfriend... ?

Not surprisingly, the US has blocked an international inquiry. Everything is back to "normal". I think American Gladiator is on...

I'm really unclear why the US constantly abstain or block UN moves to impel Israel to do anything of substance.
I can accept that in this case the US may be pushing a wider and longer view on the peace talks than Turkey is.
- Depends on who you're talking to. Some would say it's because the Jews in the US have control of government, media and business.Continuity
- ... business.Continuity
- I'm of the opinion that it's because being friends with Israel gives the US a pied-à-terre in the Middle East and, therefore, ready access to oil.Continuity

This whole Israeli Zionist ideology is made possible by the U.S. and controlling monetary interests... it's a complete setup of the american people.. for us to support such an extremist religious ideology at the expense of our liberty.. its such a contradiction that it makes me sick.. and this whole 'american dream' ideology of good will is the biggest joke i've ever seen.. instead of being wise consequentialists who lead by example, americans are fucking immoral stupid deontologists!

US can't or unable to put stable regime in middle east. Look what happened Saddam

Aipac is just one lobby. I refuse to believe that one or two lobby groups can impact significantly policy programmes across successive governments.
I do think that the US has made it's way into the affairs of so many countries and regions that it has a de-facto diplomatic presence in many places - e.g. the US had a strong positive role in the peace process in Ireland.
The US makes its money from selling tightropes.
- actually, I must write down that "selling tightropes" linelowimpakt

Funny how the US launch a criminal probe on an oil spill, but attack a ship of civilians in interantional waters? Go right ahead, just be sure to investigate yourselves afterwards, y'all.
Oil > everything else

Israel have been saying that the commandos initially had no lethal weapons and that there was no resistence or injuries on the other boats...
Edward L. Peck, a retired US diplomat that was also deputy director of the White House Task Force on Terrorism under the Reagan Administration seems to say something different.

So they had no lethal weapons when the rappelled down on the boat.........and then they climbed up again to get the weapons that killed the 19 aid workers?
- georgesIII0
- i love teh fact they included the sharpener from he kitchen on the leftlowimpakt
- So a fish fileting knife justifies 5.56mm of love and affection, I guess.Continuity
- Love the fact that they put the "weapons" on an Islamic inscription with arab head scarf for added menace...Khurram
- @continuity - those soldiers should have just asked nicely of the nice aid workers to stop repeatedly stabbing themadded_valium
- Maybe those soldiers should have stayed home instead of acting like pirates in int'l waters.Continuity
- i agree with you on that. but if you're gonna stab an armed soldier - expect some bullets coming your wayadded_valium
- I'm still waiting for evidence of said 'stabbings'. Those videos are anything but convincing.Continuity
- seriously added valium, most of this knifes, look like they came out of the kitchen, still don't see anything illegal theregeorgesIII

Ok, i'll say it.
I don't understand why Israel is getting so much flak for this, when there was nothing like this much opposition to what they did in Gaza last year and Lebanon before that.
I mean they attacked a ship that was trying to defy its blockade. And there's outrage at the UN and all this debate on TV.
I mean they're killing innocent protestors and civillians every day of the week, stealing land and committing god knows wot other crimes, no one says shit.
Few years back, when they still controlled Gaza, a bunch of unarmed Palestinians protested at one of the crossings Israel had closed down (and had bulldozed a ton of houses to create an exclusion zone at the border) and those guys were gunned down with REAL LIVE BULLETS, you never heard squat from anywhere. Let alone hasty UN resolutions or nothing.
What is the big deal with this?
- My guess is that the people they killed were citizens of sovereign countries and not a disputed territory...I'm thinkingWrappedInBooks

It's mainly because many many people have disassociated from the plight of the Palestinian people (too complex, too old an occupation, etc) and the murder of foreigners by the IDF always brings renewed attention to the occupation.
people are asking, well if this is what they do in the full gaze of the world what are they doing in the living prison of Gaza etc.
I am going to watch Death in Gaza again - haven't seen it in years - http://video.google.com/videopla…

Oright, dead Palestinians, that's just politics.
Dead Turks, it's an international incident. I get it now.
