Halo 5: Guardians took me just over six hours to complete on a Normal story run.
Six hours. Sure, I really like Halo and with each installment the cosmic wackiness inflates even further - ancient machines, planet builders, talking plants, PAWG AI's who go fucking loopy (eight year lifespan), hilariously out-of-proportion Spartans with bobble heads, and Jennifer Hale.
It's a blast and some of the set- pieces are grand but six hours? Come the fuck on, man.
- single player campaigns are a dying breed. love halo but havent played anything after halo 3. multiplayer is halo's bnb. the campaigns were always just a bonusCygnusZero4
- I'm the opposite - can't be bothered with multiplayer. 343 have pretty much fucked Halo at this point, storywise. It's like LOST now - suddenly, McGuffin!face_melter

One of the first players to come into contact with the mythical Thargoids in Elite: Dangerous.
They have been dropping various easter eggs and hints as they update the game - artifacts etc. They were the great white whale way back in the original BBC/C64 versions - only appearing while you travel in hyperspace.
- I find games like these fascinating even though I haven't play any of them, like eve or eliteernexbcn
- I was watching this the other day thinking how amazing/terrifying it would be to experience this happening completely out of the blue.detritus
- It minded me of a time I was playing Minecraft locally and I got the distinct impression I wasn't alone, which unnerved me for a second...detritus
- ...but more to the point made me realise how cool/terrifying a scenario that would be, given it's such an encompassing universe, with you alone in there.detritus
- Problem with the internet is that as soon as it's happened, it's shared and all the magic's diluted.detritus
- well I'm glad for that because otherwise I wouldn't ever knowernexbcn
- Hah, me too!detritus

30 hours in FFXV.. I like it. Like CygnusZero4 said, you get used to the characters.. but not Prompto. Fucking Prompto man.
FFXV's side quests are only go here, kill that, collect this. Main quests are good, but predictable and a little boring. Not challenging for a long time. Grinding is a bit chewy too, long travel distances, long and many loading screens.. You can see everywhere that this game has been through a lot in development.
But then it's the massive few bosses, great conversational cutscenes, repeating but never boring combat system, rewarding and quick progress that get me back.
Game is way overrated (but still cool). Some magazines that gave Witcher 3 92%, gave this a rating of like 88%. And W3 is the fucking benchmark.
If you play casually and liked games like Uncharted and tomb Raider - this is not for you. If you like FF and enjoyed Witcher, Skyrim and Fallout this might be for you - but don't expect the next big thing.

The arcade racer "DiRT Showdown" is currently free for PC, Mac and Linux within the next day and a half. It got a bit of Destruction Derby to it.
