what do you want to use your computer for?
- fyoucher10
I just switched not too long ago. Loving this macbook pro right now. OSX is a gazillion times better than Windows. It's not really the computer, its the operating system. OSX takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, you'll find that all of the nuances that a PC has are all taken care of in a Mac. I used a PC for 12 years. Can't believe it took me that long to switch. Plus you don't have to worry about viruses when you're searching for porn.

dell UltraSharp 2709W 27-inch WideScreen Black Flat Panel Monitor. $929compare that to the imac 27" 3.06Ghz. $1,699.00
which means the mac computer only cost $770.CHEAP! :-)
- 770 is for the hardware (inside)akrokdesign

- yo, what's the button before the scroll. that looks like a bad place for it.akrokdesign
- middle button. the scroll wheel when you push it either goes geared or full, so no middle clickomgitsacamera
- Actually that's a great mouse, that's what I use (diff model though). Goes down to personal taste though, some people prefer wired.ukit
- wired mice.ukit
- yeah, tbh i l'm spoiled by the trackpad :Domgitsacamera
- I have this mouse (among others). You can middle click using the magnifying glass button aft of the wheel.chow
- I'd only recommend this mouse for users who use their fingertips to grasp the mouse; it's too small for those who like to "palm".chow
- .. to "palm".chow

The ONLY problem I've had with my Macs (I've owned 3) over the last 10 years is I just had to replace my hard drive in my 17 month old iMac. The Apple Store wanted to charge me $500; I said fuck it, bought a 1TB drive and minor tools for the job and accomplished it for $125 myself.

I bought my current (and last PC) this time last year. High spec, good brand, brand new...
3months in, it was running like a dog. 12months on, and after about 4 - 5 system restores for no apparent reason, I'm totally sick of it. To be fair, it's running Vista (vomit) and I'm sure Win7 is greatly improved, etc etc... but for me, it's too late, my faith in MS is totally gone.
I also have a Macbook Pro for work, and it's so painful using my PC now, OSX gives you a reality check of how things should work.
Get the iMac. That's my next purchase.

In this industry sooner or later you need a mac to do your job. At some point you get project files with mac fonts or a .fla file that doesn't want to open in Windows. If you do web dev you simply need a mac for browser testing on a regular basis. Rather than getting the mac as a second computer, get a mac for a single computer running both OSX/Win. It likely will be cheaper than getting one of each.
I didn't even like OSX when I got my first macbook. It was the only good looking laptop on the market back then and it gave me the option to run OSX as the second system. OSX Tiger didn't even have a half decent image browser and they sold it as the best choice for multimedia(!)
I thought it would be a perfect laptop for the upcoming Vista. I bought the macbook, installed Vista release candidate on it... it sucked so bad I erased it s few hours later and stayed with OSX ever since.

Yeah actually that's gotta be the best thing...
– Porn. Any porn. None of it will fuck up your OS, though it may fuck up your eyes and head...

Get a PC if you get a Mac get a PC. Or maybe a BigMac.

It doesn't really matter anymore... They're both good. It really just comes down to preference.
Honestly the Mac's run both OS's which is cool and useful, but if your worried about cost then you can get a better machine for your buck on a PC. If you gots the money to spend though Mac's are def solid.
- if you include the cost of downtime and fixing a PC you'll be miles behind.Amicus

if you get a mac you probably wont regret not getting a pc.

It's like anything. Do you spend a little bit more for nice clothes, or just shop at K Mart?
Do you buy Photoshop or just use Paintshop Pro?
Do you go out for a steak dinner or eat at McDonalds?
