I just switched not too long ago. Loving this macbook pro right now. OSX is a gazillion times better than Windows. It's not really the computer, its the operating system. OSX takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, you'll find that all of the nuances that a PC has are all taken care of in a Mac. I used a PC for 12 years. Can't believe it took me that long to switch. Plus you don't have to worry about viruses when you're searching for porn.

I bought my current (and last PC) this time last year. High spec, good brand, brand new...
3months in, it was running like a dog. 12months on, and after about 4 - 5 system restores for no apparent reason, I'm totally sick of it. To be fair, it's running Vista (vomit) and I'm sure Win7 is greatly improved, etc etc... but for me, it's too late, my faith in MS is totally gone.
I also have a Macbook Pro for work, and it's so painful using my PC now, OSX gives you a reality check of how things should work.
Get the iMac. That's my next purchase.

It doesn't really matter anymore... They're both good. It really just comes down to preference.
Honestly the Mac's run both OS's which is cool and useful, but if your worried about cost then you can get a better machine for your buck on a PC. If you gots the money to spend though Mac's are def solid.
