That hurts, if you are so exposed as an illustrator.

I agree, that's bad.

Its so apparent, i mean you can use source material. But this is just blatant.

many comic book artists take photos of models or use 'found imagery' they then work over to create their artwork. is this not a similar style of workflow?
yes, the dolls are absolutely the referrence material for the faces / heads but there's a lot more to the illustrations that just those.
it's one of those really hard to pick one way or the other, similar to the OBEY arguments. the more you think about it the more confusing it becomes.

Looking at the whole series you see a pattern emerge. she's not just using photos for anatomy reference or lighting, she is co-opting entire characters. It's intellectually lazy, it adds nothing to the conversation and it dishonestly profits from someone else's intellect and hard work.

looks to me like some of the doll motives were used for her work for fornarina as well, so it isn´t just the buyers of her €600 giclee prints that have a reason to be grumpy. i hope this ends well, for her, the fashion label and the doll producers.

Just another fly-by-artist inspired by Shepard Fairey's ability to get away with ripping-off other artists, that's all.

How is a generation of people, who, by and large, take copyrighted music, supposed to learn that there's such a thing as "intellectual property?"

Plagiarism appears to be an epidemic of the newer generation of artists and designers. When I went to college if you were caught stealing, borrowing and or plagiarizing you got shunned and or thrown out of school. Today everyone is a Web designer and or photographer without a formal education or college degree. Just download a free app and !BAM! you are an instant Web Master or creative director!
- I'm not sure that generation sees them as being the same thing.gung_hoek
- You'll still get the boot... maybe plagiarism isn't more widespread, just more noticeable/accessibl... making it seem like a bigger problem.ismith
- I mean, pre-internet plagiarism was much easier to hide so it's kind of hard to compare.ismith
- You still get into shit for that stuff, if you are caught.juhls

haha shepard fairey is a terrible plagiarist, and that whore should get hit by a truck. however i suck with meshes so im impressed by those images all being vector.

this is probably a good bit of wank material for you version3

Did someone say wank material!?
- Andrew_D0
Huh, I've got the Computer Art's Projects mag with her "illustrations" on the cover. Good thing work paid for it!
JackRyan, to cartoons, man? Cartoons?
- inhaler970
thats pretty hefty plagiarism. its a shame because it seems like she can do the work, and she could very much modify the doll heads, except she falls short. AYE!
- GeorgesII0
wow, 22 works blatantly copied, thats sad when you get paid for something you know you didn't create
http://radiotrash.org/mijn/- yes, yes we do know your secret. You're a dirty little plagiarist.
(not you Georges, least I hope not :)Amicus

Are the original things the lassie copied actual dolls?, or are they wicked real photoshops and things that make arts.
- kult0
Yeah, I remember seeing one of her images on a magazine cover. Pretty funny.
