in arizona they would have sent you straight to jail where you have to spent the next 4 months or so of your life while on work release. first offensive, straight to jail now in arizona. toughest laws in america, pretty messed up considering you have to drive anywhere in arizona...ah well...at least he was cool and realized it wasn't worth screwing your life over considering you only had a few beers.

Jesus, so hold on. Cuffing you and driving you back to the scene of a crime to be ID'd is legal?
I'm no Perry Mason or Matlock but may want to check on that before next time. I've never heard of that before.- being cuffed and detained is not the same as being arrested.monospaced

Great story, I'm sure Kona has something that will top this though.

What was the crime? How hardcore was the fight? If it wasn't "hardcore" then don't even waste my time with a story.

haha, that was close! I was expecting to read, 'they escorted me to a secluded, dirty motel so that I can dance for them....'

I failed a sobriety test once - I believe I got off on a technicality, as I wasn't operating a motor vehicle at the time. I was trying to put gas in my car, but the pumps were [apparently] closed. It would give me $.03 of gas and switch off. Just then 2 cops pulled up and started questioning me. They asked me where I lived, which happened to only be a block away from the gas station. The cop must have been in a good mood, because after I failed the horizontal nystagmus test [the eye tracking test] she asked for my keys, pulled the car over to a parking space and told me to walk home and pick it up in the morning. The thought of what could have happened has stuck with me, I no longer drive if I've had more than 2-3 drinks in an evening.

you are very lucky. this should prove a point to you though, a $30 cab ride is far cheaper than a $10,000 DUI and the possibility of hurting someone.
we've all done it, I'm certainly not innocent of driving past the point of the legal limit (though I never drive if I think my judgment is impaired). But now I just cab ride or use a DD. it's really just not worth it.- DD as in Double D's bimbo that can drive you home?OSFA
