The Brown Fist?.....

eh yeah,
so http://www.fairtex.com/news.php?…
see that link. The World Muay Thai Council is already in talks with the IOC to come up with an Olympic suitable form of the sport.. This'll give you a good background to state of play.
So we need some form of lobbying....

if you do a search for Muay Thai 2012, the QBN thread comes at the top
so someone needs to do another website, cos there really isn't enough pressure behind it.
My East London gym is putting all its efforts in getting a new series of "The Contender, Muay Thai" on tele, for which they have the rights. And i'm like "Bill?? wtf??? OLYMPICS!!!"
Just not enough pressure :(

Latest fitness check up - Weight 84 kg - 2kg under weight
Blood pressure 118 - OPTIMAL
Body fat - 11 % , EXCELLENT. surprising considering I'm on a bulking cycle.Need to up the calorie intake this month. Will dedicate December to strength training only and bulking. Get myself up to 20% body fat. Low intensity training, but HEAVY weights. Enjoy socialising, fucking, rest, take a break, also sort out new apartment etc...
Enter cutting cycle in January. Dedicate to waking up 6.30am and going for a morning jog before work 3 times a week minimum. Then evening Muay Thai 3 times a week and then weights 3 times a week. Month of being a 'hermit'... dedicated to the sport. Body fat down to 15% - possible experimentation with steroids and other performance enhancers.

nice one prince naseem.
One of the guys in my stair well teaches muay thai I want to go for some lessons with him but I fear he may kick my fucking ass all up and down the hall, seen as I have just hit everyone in the stair well with a £37,000 grand roof repair bill :/

Khurram is there one single element, for example punching power or stamina. Which is essential to muay thai, without which you shouldn't bother trying it out.

There isn't a single element that should make or break your participation in the sport: unless you have a heart condition or diabetes etc.
Power and stamina will come. I don't know anybody who couldn't get a lot out of it, and personally, when i got into it in my early-mid 20s, i was in BAD shape. Rubbish at sport at school, 10-15 a day smoking habit, heavy drinker, ZERO exercise since i was 16 etc.
Conditioning is VITAL. All trainers will push you to exhaustion every time. That's where the game is won.
Mixture of aerobic/anaerobic exercise needed. More emphasis on anaerobic.
Develop medium twitch muscles that work off the ATP-CP energy system (which lasts10 seconds, sprinters and power lifters rely on this) and the lactic acid system (which uses glucose and glycogen reserves).
Nutrition important, especially carbs, to augment training and develop these systems. But it'll come over TIME.
As a training regime i would recommend cross training and calasthenics (body-weight press ups, squats, burpees, sit ups etc.) that work the lactic acid system.
Also, quit smoking and get your aerobic capacity up as well.
- Thanks for taking the time to write that interesting stuff. I'll let you know how sore my face is after my neighbor kicks my ass.chossy

Just saying.
