Perhaps I'm the only one in thinking this, but I didn't see anything spectacular in Heath's acting. He's a great actor in his own right, so I expected him to do a great job. And he did. But, I didn't think it was his tour de force. I think most people are saying that because of his unfortunate death.
It was a great movie and I loved it. And Heath performed exactly as I expected him to.
- I agree, I thought he was really good but all the hype was just that, hype.Jnr_Madison

up, thought this was great, but with big fat elements of shit in it. Best comic movie I've seen by a long shot though and Bale is a great Bruce Wayne (not such a great Batman, except when he's fighting) and ledger is ace as the joker, a proper unhinged anarchic sadist, like all the best people.
wouldn't want to get on a bus with him, mind.

Crime drama at its best. Batman Begins was great, Dark Knight was brilliant!

I liked Dark Knight, especially the Joker's character and the story—problem was, there was so much fluff and guns. The original (Batman Begins) was way better—more thought out and original. This was a disapointment because of my super high expactations. Still worth seeing though.

Just saw this movie. It was a good movie, but not great. Ledger's performance was really good, but no earth-shattering like everyone is making it out to be. The fight scenes were lame and Batman's motorcycle was just silly looking. Bale's Batman voice sucks. Every time he appeared as Bruce Wayne in a suit I saw American Psycho. I did like the storyline and I also like how long it was too... everytime I thought the movie was over, it wasn't. The day-player actors were the butt of the movie with stupid lines and one-liners while coping with their own mini-dramas (like the stupid scene where they were going to vote on blowing up the other ferry).
However, the Joker's magic trick was good.

Anybody lurking here knows this thread is a big spoiler, right? Good.
The film was really good, but it didn't make me leave the cinema on a high note.
The cellphone tracking idea: the most stupid thing about it was that Wayne developed the system on his own in his spare time. That was weak.
Two face Terminator make-up. It looked good, but it was stupifying to listen to the man's clear unchanged voice when he had a hole in his face and half of the lips missing. They went ott with the CGI on that, could've at least edited his voice.
Also, Joker's last scene was no match for the Nicholson's, where no room was left for a Joker sequel.

I finally watched it at a second run theater last weekend.
The film print was all scratched up, I should have waited and watched it on Blue Ray which i will anyway. It wasn't as good as it was hyped up to be, I think liked Batman Returns better.
I always like Harvey Dent in the cartoon The Dark Night so I'm looking forward to seeing Two Face in an up coming movie.

plus I thought they could have gone a lot darker. Like editing out the real comic book hollywood scenes like the 2 kids in the car pretending to shot cars until one explodes.
