I'm sitting on a dining room chair with a leg hanging off because I'm too lazy to pick up my office chair from storage. My back hates me. In fact, I hate me.

The chair is actually pretty comfortable. I had it for a while at my desk before the studio owner/my boss stole it from me.
My advice is to spring the extra $200 to get the movable arms.
I think the chair is overpriced, but at least it's not a piece of shit.

Definately overrated. More a fashion statement than anything.

My dad's getting one because it does wonders for the back when you're hunched over a painting for 12+ hours a day. I got to sit in one when I was at the Robert Stern offices in NYC.

ok Mr. Fancy Pants Horton-
One of the primary features of this chair was that it was designed for an "active seating position." This means that there is a forward tilt lock that you can engage (see manual) that will make it seem as though the chair is tilting forward (because it does). By doing this, your lumbar is put into the nature curve that most of us negate while in the "mouse crouch." But this also relies on you having the core strength to sit upright like that all day, which most graphic geeks don't have.
The other most important thing is that you bought the right size chair for your body. If you're in a chair that is too small, then the length of your femurs aren't going to be long enough to exceed the front of the chair. And if only one of your legs is numb (as your posts states), then you might have a)far too much of a pimp going on in your posture - try to sit on both ass cheeks or b)circulation issues in that one leg- just a guess. You might also try sitting on a giant Swiss ball for awhile.

I sit on an Aeron, but then so does everyone else in my office.
I don't mind it, because I didn't have to pay for it.
We used to have the Mirra, but those had an awful plastic hard backing and the arms were disproportionate. Kept banging into the desk.
