If you save some $$$ from a UK bankroll, you'll be fine in NYC with the exchange rate. It's great out here, although life is better when you don't have to worry about the ridiculous prices for EVERYTHING! To get an APT you usually need the standard 1st, last, security,... But sometimes you also need to have proof of a steady job. It is possible though I moved out here with $1400 no job, apt, or anything... Here I am a year later. I'm curious, hows the contemporary art scene over in London, I hear that's the place to be.
