My boxes have been sent. It's like a ghost town, just me, my Mac and the cats.
*cue tumbleweed*- really? If I could pick any...and I mean ANY U.S city to live in.
L.A is at the BOTTOM of that listmarychain - But cheers if you like it and are psyched. It's probably just memarychain
- How so?
babaganush - Well i've spent extended periods in ATL and Miami, both weren't really my thing... And the g/f likes LA so i'm willing to try it for her... At least for a while.YAYPaul

If you save some $$$ from a UK bankroll, you'll be fine in NYC with the exchange rate. It's great out here, although life is better when you don't have to worry about the ridiculous prices for EVERYTHING! To get an APT you usually need the standard 1st, last, security,... But sometimes you also need to have proof of a steady job. It is possible though I moved out here with $1400 no job, apt, or anything... Here I am a year later. I'm curious, hows the contemporary art scene over in London, I hear that's the place to be.

I'm moving over there to marry my g/f and yeah i guess for a change. It was i afterall that said 'i'll move there'. Should be interesting, new country, new town, potential new office experience. Although i'm still uming and arrring over staying freelance.
- I spent some time in ATL a few years back too, way way too humid though!YAYPaul

Thanks to all responses.
Always had a soft spot for NYC...I think the economy/job market thing is global.

I've never experienced an earth quake, it's worth it just for that.

worked in chicago for 3 years (2001-2004). worth the experience. at the time the standard of living was a lot better than that of london. work wise, it was worse than london.
- babaganush0
Is Chicago a cool city then? Do you think you may have stayed if the work had been cool?

Bueller...anyone...

I'm from New York, lived in LA and now live in London - ask away.
Check the filter as well.

i found Chicago a great place to live. incredibly good summers, fucking awful winters. met a good bunch of people who knew how to party. had the work life been better i might of stayed but i think saw the move out there as a short term thing.

Work from space, you can work on all sides of the world. Personally, I'd work in NYC. There's a ton of opportunity. There's a ton of diversity, culture, history, people, and things to do. You can always travel to the west coast if you want and you're closer to London than if you lived on the West Coast of US.
