Been doing my own thing in the UK for a while. Branding, animation, film. Thinking about the opportunities in the US. Anyone have any opinion after working in the industry both sides of the pond?
London sometimes feels a bit parochial and full of nepotism...any insights?

I'm moving over there to marry my g/f and yeah i guess for a change. It was i afterall that said 'i'll move there'. Should be interesting, new country, new town, potential new office experience. Although i'm still uming and arrring over staying freelance.
- I spent some time in ATL a few years back too, way way too humid though!YAYPaul

worked in chicago for 3 years (2001-2004). worth the experience. at the time the standard of living was a lot better than that of london. work wise, it was worse than london.

Is Chicago a cool city then? Do you think you may have stayed if the work had been cool?
- Bluejam0
i found Chicago a great place to live. incredibly good summers, fucking awful winters. met a good bunch of people who knew how to party. had the work life been better i might of stayed but i think saw the move out there as a short term thing.

I'm from New York, lived in LA and now live in London - ask away.
Check the filter as well.

Work from space, you can work on all sides of the world. Personally, I'd work in NYC. There's a ton of opportunity. There's a ton of diversity, culture, history, people, and things to do. You can always travel to the west coast if you want and you're closer to London than if you lived on the West Coast of US.
