I'm a huge fan of 2 and 3. Particularly 3 - i like how the circle in the middle of the design is similar to the 'O'

- yeah... a little worried about that.ian00

only problem with the 3rd one is similarity to the BP logo
- I might be able to tackle that in how color is worked in. definitely an issue to deal with though.ian00

5 seems the most practical and most relevant to their service

1 and 2 looked really good at first glance.
i dont think i need to mention that 3 reminds you of the bp logo.I like number 2 over all. looks good.

I keep reading "orifice". Not your prob, you did't come up with the name.
I don't think the typeface goes with #1, but I like the icon (what font is that, is that s custom??)
#2 actually looks the most cohesive, and energy like, but the fade is killing it for me.
In general, the typface is pretty stodgy, and not energetic.
- yes, the fade bothers me too. it's nice, overall, but for some reason the fade is annoying.Jaline

2 kinda reminds of nuclear power stuff from the 60s or something.

I'm a little surprised when we do these crits, no one ever asks what the company is trying to convey with their mark. We know they are an energy consulting company, but do they just want a competent mark that reads "energy company" - which any of these would do? It seems like figuring out what they need to achieve with their brand should be the key to deciding which direction to go in.

have you tried using the counter of the O to hold something?
Some of the best logos are just type treatments that have something unique happening with one of the letter forms. I think this is the best way to go on things that have to look "corporate"

I like 2 and 5, however, I think #2 would work better with a sans-serif font. The symmetry of the graphic feels thrown off by the serif font to me.
5, however, works fine with a serif font.
Good stuff overall!

"1" looks best to me. considering what the next "hip" energy consulting company could possibly look like. and it's the most timeless in my opinion

just a little side issue... what is energy consulting?
