Good Night All!

ismith, much much nicer. If you're still making changes, i would consider bringing the "n" in slightly. And the "f" is sitll a bit of a problem. The ascender could be lengthened a little to create more room between it and the "a" - it might also be nice to see what it looks like with a mirrored ending on the bottom, rather than the slab finish.
- I'll try it out later tonight; have real work to do now! ;)ismith

nice one,
no remarks on the last posts

btw you have already more feeling for typo than 75 percent of the crap that comes in here for a job application

While I like what you've done with the "n" on the 2nd example, I think it hurts your readability too much.
- DoubleKing0
agree with evanburke. I'd like to see a mix of 2 and 3. The higher "f" is working well. I like the abrupt ending for the "n" since it's a wordmark and not text - however, i'd like to see it end on line.
With that, i think you're done.

red one is great. the raised ascender knocks it off balance. good work fully flushing it out.

Your revised logo looks really nice.

ISMITH: here is a cool site on one of the godfathers of typography and design Josef Müller-Brockmann. Since they will not teach you typography at school we will.

#2 is lookin real nice. Like the treatment of the n quite a bit, but I like the higher f in #3

i cant believe they won't let you do type! its great that you are teaching yourself though. well done. logo looks good to me. save as - now sleep.

ismith: you'll get a better education at your local library looking up Muller-Brockmann and Jan Tschichold than many undergrads.
btw, i have that type grid book you pointed to earlier, it's not very useful for where you're at.

Okay, it's probably going to be one of these. I'm somewhat partial to the second one– the f descender is supposed to reflect the t instead of the n, although I like the n coming to a halt at the baseline. I decided that making the f taller, while more readable, messed a little too much with the overall tightness of the logo– something I really want to preserve.
- Stick with the "n" in the above sketches the "n" look forced here.utopian
- are you sure u are 16?studderine
- I would kill to be old enough for my driver's license. ;)ismith
- i like the 3rd one the little touch on the t's ascender is nice.studderine

it gets really tricky this deep into it b/c you start liking things only because it's different and new. while i think it's an interesting change to the k and t on the 3rd one the original horizontal serif on the k's ascender highlights the cut throughout. if it weren't "faktion" i'd be more open to it. although, i think the beauty of this k is in it's curviness mixed with the hard edges.
i am liking the straight n though it does beg to have it's foot snipped at an angle. but that's probably just from looking at it so much.
i like the second one as well! nice way to tie the f into it more.
