    This weeks theme:
    "That's when it started..."

    Explanation:
Use the Theme above to create an illustration before the end of this week (so before 09/01/2008). Any material/medium is allowed, as long as you're able to post a picture of it in this thread. (If you have no place to host your image , use a free service like www.photobucket.com )

You're free to interpret the theme any way you'd like. If you're having trouble with this, think of it as the beginning of a story - what started?

    good luck everyone!

Thnx. Backwards conceptualizing eh? hehe, that's pretty much what happened with mine as well.. well actually I started out with the idea of someone recieving an order from japanesebugfights.com / but thought the DIY-b.s. was a better approach ;)

Ok, I completely suck at drawing at this point in time. But I'm posting this crap below only as part of this week's theme "So, that's how it started".......What started? Me trying to learn how to draw again......I was into it for a while, then got caught up in other stuff......Hopefully the poor quality of this will encourage me to put more time into this particular creative venture.......like hopefully 6 months from now, I'll post some amazing drawing and be able to look at this and say........"ya, thats how it started"......(It's a Jawa from SW, if you're not nerdy enough to know BTW).

ok - thanks all who entered this!

For those that wanted to enter but didn't post - what was the reason you didn't enter? Too busy ( > maybe make it a two-week thing?). Theme not interesting ( > any suggestions for a new theme?).

I guess we're already too late for a new FIT, so maybe just take a week off and think about a new theme? Who would be up for a new round?

I must admit, I was a bit floored by the topic - I didn't go to art school, so was expecting a brief like "draw a toad in a car" or something. That said, the flooring bit was the fact that I had too many ideas, couldn't settle on which on to go with, then ended up with less large blocks of free time throughout the week than I'd expected. However, if I'd spent perhaps a little less time dicking around on here, I could probably have mustered something akin to an illustration somehow.

I'm still expecting to enter something... just not yesterday! :)

Don't lose heart - over the years of PSBs we had, there'd always be the occasional flaky week - the trick is to keep it up so that it maintains its profile and inspires the others on here to take part..

Also, perhaps in a move away from the PSBs and FMTs, maybe we should not apply a date to the thread title - that kind of concentrates the effort in mind to one day - whereas calling it 'FIT wk 2' or 'FIT February 1/4' or something might not.

Or maybe I'm just talking rot. Perhaps Now would be a good time to start working on that Illy? :)
