I don't think there's anything unreasonable about believing that sin has left nothing untouched with regard to it's deletirious effects. It's standard Christian doctrine.

so because of the second law of thermodynamics, which is the result of "sin", human lifespan has been on a downward trajectory since the beginning of time - or since the mythical "flood"?
Is it just human life, or did all life used to exist for 1000 plus years... because of the second law of thermodynamics. *snicker*
No you see Mimio, your forgetting that since jesus absolved our sins, entropy has gone backwards, at least as it pertains to human lifespans *snicker*
man, i need to draw some kinda spider diagram to keep track of all this contriving...

Sure it's unreasonable. The idea of "sin" is an article of faith. Use an empirical method to show how "sin" influences entropy.
Let me save you some time...you won't be able to. What you have is an example of religion trying to co-opt science for it's own purposes.

That's the nice thing about supernatural explanations, you can always invent another one. For instance, the messiah from Old Testament returned but he had to promptly leave again leaving another narrative in his place. How convenient!

John 10:29-31
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."John 14:6-14
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus' deity is also confirmed by his actions, which spoke even louder than his words: a perfect life, death, descenscion to hell, defeat of the devil and death itself through his resurrection; also, his being "seated at the right hand of the Father, from whence he will come to judge the quick and the dead."
No one else sits there.

Too bad there's a substantial generational increase in life expectancy over the past 150+ years.

i missed posts 380-500+ is there any reason to read them or will it be the same nonsense.

Mimio: Were it not for "religious" people, modern science would not exist.
And what you choose to call supernatural explanations, with regard to science, I would call Telic explanations. Like the Big Bang. It only makes sense in light of Teleology.

my post was fucking excellent, tonx, much better than all the rest of them, highly recommended.

Sometimes, blind materialistic explanations just do not suffice.

Sometimes, blind supernatural explanations when scientific ones don't prove my point just do not suffice.

Flagellum you said "sin" caused something to happen in the universe (Entropic action). I merely pointed out your inability to even define it outside of a supernatural explanation. Be my guest, use your science to demonstrate how this occurred.

nah, not blind ones, mrdopolina. Rather, explanations which are a logical inference. Like: where there is engineering and code, there must have been a cognizant intelligence as the source.
- flagellum0
Mimio: Do you believe that everything in cosmology and biology can be explained in terms of blind material processes? Be my guest, use your science to demonstrate it.
- Kuz0
ooh, now he's trying to take the argument down the old intelligent design route... i'm sure this is gonna get more interesting.
fuck it, i'm off to watch the second half of the england match.
yeah, and by the way, kelpie's post was best.

Mimio is taking it in the ID direction. It's inevitable.
kelpie's post was the best.

No I'm not taking it anywhere, other than demonstrating that your point of view is completely predicated on supernatural belief and can never be proven scientifically.
