(Sep 17 07, 12:45)do you own any of these? i'm thinking the 3g may be the way to go but at $275 is it only 1/4 of the canon brand option? you can obviously see the construction difference, i was looking to see some images taken with the 3g. i'm sure i'd still want the canon though, all my equipment is canon so far

i made my own out of a 75mm medium format bronica lens, plunger, tape, body cap and some glue. here's a sample shot..

I have a 30D too and to be honest I have been having the most fun with cheap DIY add ons and old film stuff.
I'm definately trying the plunger tilt idea.
Other cheap things to try are aperture stencils.

Reverse macro using old film primes.

I also bought my self a 8mm fisheye from Belarus for a few hundred bucks that takes amazing pix. (Peleng 8mm f3.5)
and finally buying old second hand flash units and putting cellophane coloured gels over them and selectively lighting structures at night over really long exposures (no photos online yet)
Sorry for the long post, just thought I would post it all in case anyone was interested in the cheap side of photographical experimentation.

Wow that was quick, did you just make those stencils or you have been doing before?
Its a bit of a spin out even skull and crossbones work. I'd love to get some custom bokeh into a client job one day. I dont have any samples on my work computer :(

i tried those based on the link you provided, i had the supplies sitting around the house

Inexpensive tilt and shift lenses at the bottom. I've ordered from them before.... totally on the up and up.

nice!, thanks

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but there is something called lensbaby that does that focus shift very inexpensively.

comparing the image galleries from some of the suggestions so far, i would call the lensbaby an overpriced toy. the quality of image looks amateur photoshop at best
